functional linguists, especially in

English (Lin, 2006).

social functions and sets out to show language a system from which

 Modeling a text

deconstruction or even manipulating the text.

The students are directed and situated in order to know and understand the
function of the text, the communicative purpose of the text. Take for
example the genre procedure writing-the function of procedure and the
purpose of writing procedure.
