SOCIAL

PROBLEMS
 A CONDITIONOR SITUATION WHICH BUNCH OF PEOPLE
IN THE COMMUNITY CONSIDER AS BEING
UNDESIRABLE IS CALLED SOCIAL PROBLEM. THESE
PROBLEMS CAN BE TRAFFIC DEATHS, MURDERS, CRIME
AND MORE. THEY CAN BE THE GENERAL FACTORS
WHICH INFLUENCE AND DAMAGE THE SOCIETY.
SOCIAL PROBLEMS TODAY MIGHT BE VIEWED
DIFFERENTY BY DIFFERENT PEOPLE.
 FOR
EXAMPLE, NOT ALL PEOPLE CONSIDER PLAYING
LOUD MUSIC IN THE PARK IS A SOCIAL ISSUE BUT AS
SOME CONSIDER IT UNDESIRABLE, THEREFORE, IT IS A
PROBLEM. THE NEWS IS ALWAYS FILLED WITH STORIES
ABOUT UNDESIRABLE SITUATIONS WHICH HAVE NOW
BECOME A COMMON PRACTICE.
THER IS A
WHOLE LIST OF
SOCIAL
PROBELMS.
DRUG
ABUSE
Drug abuse or substance abuse
refers to the use of certain
chemicals for the purpose of
creating pleasurable effects on
the brain. There are over 190
million drug users around the
world and the problem has been
increasing at alarming rates,
especially among young adults
under the age of 30. Apart from
the long term damage to the
body drug abuse causes, drug
addicts who use needles are also
at risk of contracting HIV and
hepatitis B and C infections.
SUICIDE
Suicide is the act or
an instance of taking
one's own life
voluntarily and
intentionally.
GLOBAL
WARMING
Global warming is the long-
term rise in the average
temperature of the
Earth's climate system. It is a
major aspect of climate
change, and has been
demonstrated by direct
temperature measurements
and by measurements of
various effects of the warming.
ABORTION
Abortion is the ending of
a pregnancy by removal
or expulsion of an
embryo or fetus before it
can survive outside the
uterus. An abortion that
occurs without
intervention is known as a
miscarriage or
spontaneous abortion.
ALCOHOLISM
Alcoholism, now
known as alcohol use
disorder, is a condition
in which a person has a
desire or physical need
to consume alcohol,
even though it has a
negative impact on
their life.
POVERTY
Poverty, the state of one who
lacks a usual or socially
acceptable amount of money
or material possessions.
Poverty is said to exist when
people lack the means to
satisfy their basic needs. In
this context, the identification
of poor people first requires a
determination of
what constitutes basic needs.
WORLD
POPULATION
The population of the world,
now somewhat in excess of
three billion persons, is growing
at about two per cent a year, or
faster than at any other period
in man’s history. While there
has been a steady increase of
population growth during the
past two or three centuries, it
has been especially rapid during
the past 20 years.
DISCRIMINATION
OF RELIGION
Religious discrimination is treating
a person or group differently
because of the particular beliefs
which they hold about a religion.
This includes instances when
adherents of
different religions, denominations
or non-religions are treated
unequally due to their particular
beliefs, either before the law or in
institutional settings, such as
employment or housing.
GENDER
ISSUES
Gender equality, also known
as sexual equality or equality
of the sexes, is the state of
equal ease of access to
resources and opportunities
regardless of gender, including
economic participation and
decision-making; and the state
of valuing different behaviors,
aspirations and needs equally,
regardless of gender.
STRESS
Stress is a feeling of emotional or
physical tension. It can come from
any event or thought that makes
you feel frustrated, angry, or
nervous. Stress is your body's
reaction to a challenge or demand.
In short bursts, stress can be
positive, such as when it helps you
avoid danger or meet a deadline.
PROSTITUTION
Prostitution, the practice of
engaging in relatively
indiscriminate sexual
activity, in general with
someone who is not a
spouse or a friend, in
exchange for immediate
payment in money or other
valuables.
TERRORISM
Terrorism is, in the broadest
sense, the use of intentional
violence, generally against
civilians, for political purposes.
It is used in this regard primarily
to refer to violence
during peacetime or in context
of war against non-
combatants (mostly civilians an
d neutral military personnel).
ANTI SOCIAL
BEHAVIOR
Anti-social behaviors are actions
that harm or lack consideration for
the well-being of others. It has also
been defined as any type of
conduct that violates the basic
rights of another person and any
behavior that is considered to be
disruptive to others in society.
EDUCATION
Education is something that is valued all
around the world. Issues surrounding
educations are constantly shifting to
accommodate societal changes. What
children learn in schools largely
determines the person they will be later in
life. If a child is pushed to be the best that
can be in school, then they will be the best
they can be in their careers. If they are
constantly bullied and unheard, those
negative attitudes can be reflected onto
others in their future. The importance of
children receiving a good education is
more important now than ever before.
*SOCIAL PROBLEMS TODAY ARE WHAT WE
NEVER USED TO ENCOUNTER YEARS BACK.
EACH DAY, THEY ARE GETTING WORST AND
WORST. FOR EXAMPLE, SOCIAL HEATH.
BECAUSE OF THE NUMBERS OF PATIENTS IS
INCREASING WHO ARE BEING DIAGNOSED
FROM LIFE THREATENING DISEASES LIKE AIDS
AND CANCER. DUE TO LACK OF PROPER
HEATHCARE REFORM, THIS PROBLEM HAS
TAKEN THE FORM OF SOCIAL ISSUES.
THE LIST JUST GOES ON AND ON. THE CURRENT SOCIAL
PROBEMS FROM BAD TO WORST! THEY BE ADDRESSED
OTHERWISE THE SOCIETY MIGHT BECOME UNSAFE AND
UNHEALTHY AND THIS COULD INFLUENCE THE LIVES OF
THE NEXT GENERATION. ALTHOUGH, THER ARE LAWS
AVAILABLE BUT THEY HAVE HARDLY HELPED IN CURING
ALL THE SOCIAL ISSUES. IT IS BELIEVED THAT A HUGE
SOCIETAL REFORM WOULD BE REQUIRED FOR THIS
PURPOSE. SEVERE PUNISHMENT IS THE ONLY THING
THAT WILL MAKE CRIMINALS WANT TO REFRAIN FROM
CAUSING TROUBLES. THE NEED OF THE HOUR IS TO HIRE
THE MOST RESPONSIBLE AUTHORITIES FOR MAKING
STRICT LAWS AND ENSURE THAT THESE LAWS ARE
IMPLEMENTED THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.
AS A STUDENT,
WHAT CAN YOU DO
TO PREVENT
SOCIAL
PROBLEMS?
