They were mostly terrible and the reason why


the world is a horrible place.

They were worshiped out of fear, not love.


The Titans

that were overthrown by Zeus and the
Olympians
Mt. Olympus

Mt. Olympus is the


home of the Gods.

Only the most


important Gods live
there.

They are known as


the Olympians.
Zeus is the King
of the Gods.

He is the God of the


Sky & Thunder.

He has many illegitimate children.


Hera Juno

Hera is the sister and wife


of Zeus.

She is the Goddess of


Women & Marriage.

She is jealous and


vengeful.
Poseidon Neptune

Poseidon is a
brother of Zeus.

He is the God of the


Sea & Earthquakes.

He carries a trident.
Aphrodite Venus

Aphrodite is the
Goddess of Love and
Desire.

She is an aunt of Zeus,


the wife of Hephaestus
and the lover of Ares.
Athena Minerva

Athena was a daughter


of Zeus, born fully
armed from his
forehead.

She is the Goddess of


Wisdom, Crafts and
Strategic Warfare.
Apollo

Apollo is a son of Zeus.

He is the God of Music,


Healing and Prophecy.

He was the patron of


the Oracle of Delphi.
Oracle of Delphi

The priestesses of the


Oracle of Delphi were a
medium for Apollo’s
prophetic messages.

They were highly respected


and cities asked them for
advice.
Artemis Diana

Artemis is the twin


sister of Apollo.

She is the Goddess of


the Hunt, Virginity
and Childbirth.
Ares Mars

Ares is a son of Zeus.

He is the God of War


in all of its violence,
bloodlust and
slaughter.

He is hated by all
except Aphrodite.
Hephaestus Vulcan

Hephaestus is a son
of Hera.

He is the god of
Blacksmiths, Fire
and Volcanoes.

He is ugly and lame,


and walks with a limp.
Demeter Ceres

Demeter is a sister of Zeus.

She is the Goddess of the


Harvest and the Cycle of
Life and Death.
Hermes Mercury

Hermes is a son of
Zeus.

He is the messenger of the Gods and brings


souls to the afterlife. He is a trickster.
Hestia Vesta

Hestia is the elder


sister of Zeus.

She is the Goddess of


the Hearth and
Family.

She is modest and


non-confrontational.
Dionysus Bacchus

Dionysus was a
son of Zeus.

He is the God of
Wine, Dance and
Parties.

He is chaotic and dangerous. Through him,


mortals can speak to the dead.
Hades Pluto

Hades is a brother of
Zeus.

He is the God of the


Underworld & the
Dead.

He was the most


feared and loathed of
the Gods.
Persephone Proserpina

Persephone is a
daughter of
Demeter.

A Goddess of Agriculture and the Seasons,


she was kidnapped by Hades and forced
to marry him.
The Three Fates

The incarnations
of destiny.

The Spinner, the Measurer and the


Inevitable. They control the thread of life
from birth to death.
Prometheus

He was a Titan who stole fire


from the Gods to give to
mankind.

Zeus chained him to a rock where an eagle gnawed


on his liver, it regenerated every day.
The Norse Pantheon

These are the Gods of the ancient Germanic


peoples, who lived in Central and Northern
Europe.
Asgard

Asgard is the world of


the Gods, it rests on
the branches of the
World Tree.
Odin

King of the Norse Gods,


Odin was a God of War,
Wisdom and Death.

He sacrificed an eye to gain knowledge of the


past, present and future.
The Valkyries

The Valkyries carried the souls of men who


died in battle to Odin’s hall, Valhalla.
Frigg

Queen of the Gods, Frigg is Odin's wife.

She is a Goddess of Marriage, Childbirth and


Prophecy.
Thor

Thor is the most powerful


son of Odin.

He is a God of Storms,
and wields lightning and
a magic hammer called
Mjölnir.

He protects women and


warriors in need of aid.
Freya was the Norse Goddess
of Love and Fertility.

Women who die a noble death go to her hall.


Tyr is the God of Law and Heroic Glory.

He’s a powerful warrior.


His right hand was bitten off by the giant wolf Fenrir.
Loki is half God,
and half Giant.

He is a shape shifter
and a trickster who is
always causing
trouble.

It is prophesied that he will help cause the end


of the world.
Hel

A daughter of Loki, Hel is


Queen of the Underworld.

Her right side is that of a beautiful


woman, the left that of a rotting corpse.
The Frost
Giants

The Frost Giants are the enemies of the Gods and


mankind. Their war with the Gods will eventually
destroy the world.
Ragnarök

Ragnarök is the Twilight of the Gods. The last


battle between Gods and the Frost Giants
that will destroy the world.
