Ignacio, Alyssa Marie R.

BSN 4th year

 The family unit has specific function with
relation to its members.
 It is the most important social institution,
serving as the means of transferring
culture from one stage to another.
 Sharing of works among the members of
the family is a strong influence in
keeping the family together.
 Thefamily developmental task is a set of
ordered stages that progress from birth
to death, which make up the family life
cycle.

 Each stage has developmental tasks that

are to be accomplished by both parents
and children.
 Coupling – the family begins at the
establishment of a common household by
two people. Individual independence to
couple.
 Becoming Three-and more – family life is
initiated by the arrival and subsequent
inclusion of the first child.
 Entrance – this occur at the point of
entrance into school. Facilitation of
beginning separation.
 Expansion – the entrance of the last child
member of the family into the
community.
 Exists – the first complete exit of the
dependent member from the family.
 Becoming smaller/extended – ultimately
the moment comes for the exit of the last
child member from the family.
 Endings – the final years start with the
death of one spouse/partner. Facilitation
of family mourning.
 People will tell you exactly who they are; it’s up
to you to listen. If someone says they’re usually
in a bad mood or don’t know how to be
monogamous

 Lookfor someone who is kind and loving. If

you’re really lucky, your partner will also have a
family that taught him or her how to be that
way.
 Make sure that you have enough
differences that, if you are unable to go
out, you can still entertain each other.

 Physical compatibility has more to do

with touch than it does with sex. If you’re
a tactile person, you need to be with
someone who shares that desire.
 Beware of people who want to get
married immediately. Engagements were
created for reason.
 Find someone who makes you laugh. A
sense of humor can help you overcome
many of life’s obstacles.
How will he or she respect you?
 You should know, learn and find out the level at which
your spouse respects his or her parents.
 Our parents are responsible foe our progress, our
development and our upbringing.
 Before choosing a spouse, you need to know the
person’s level of commitment to his or her siblings.
Because they grew up together, played together,
suffered and made progress together.
 If the person does not love, tolerate, and respect his or
her siblings, then how can your spouse respect you.
 Other things that should consider before
choosing a spouse are; honestly, sincerity,
generosity, tolerance, understanding, his
love for other people or his maturity.
 One must make sure that he fully
scrutinizes the person or she wants to
marry so as to have a successful, and
responsible family in the future.
 Courtship is a rather outdated word used to describe
the activities that occur when a couple is past the
dating stage and in more serious stage of their
relationship.
 It happens before the couple becomes engaged or
married and is usually meant to describe when a man
is attempting to woo a woman, with marriage as the
end goal.
 Dating has a more informal connotation and implies
that the couple is not necessarily exclusive.
A primary role of a married person is to fulfill
the need for a committed friendship – a
confidante and solid supporter with whom you
can share affection, insecurities, success, fears,
plans and goals.
 This is an assurance that you need not face life’s
tribulations alone, and even extends to the
opportunity of lying in rest together upon
death.
Healthy Relationships
 Respecting each other’s need for privacy
 Loving and taking care of yourself before and while in a
relationship.
 Doing things with friends and family and having
activities independent or each other.
 Discussing things, allowing for differences of opinions,
and compromising equally.
 Trusting and being honest with yourself and each
other.
 Expressing and listening to each other’s feelings,
needs, and desires.
 Sharingsexual histories and health status
with a partner

 Practicing safer sex methods

 Respecting sexual boundaries and being

able to say no to sex
 Weaving the concepts of power, decision-
making and trust together, we can understand
how executives and managers can exercise
power wisely to build trust within the
organization.
 The to key this understanding is an in-depth
knowledge of decision-making and the
experience to make good decisions about how
to make decisions.
