David Begnaud is the lead national correspondent for CBS
THIS MORNING based in New York. He joined the Network
in 2015 and his reporting, featured across all CBS News
broadcasts and platforms including CBS THIS MORNING,
the CBS EVENING NEWS, 48 HOURS, CBS SUNDAY
MORNING and CBSN, has earned him some of journalism’s
most prestigious awards. Counted among them is the George
Polk Award for public service in 2018 for his coverage of
Hurricane Maria. Diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at the
age of six, David is actively working with the Tourette
Association of America to elevate national awareness and
acceptance of the disorder.
 ABOUT THE KEYNOTE
Jumaane D. Williams is the Public Advocate for the City of New York. Previously, he

served on the NYC Council representing the 45th District. Jumaane is a first-generation

Brooklynite of Grenadian heritage. He graduated from the public school system,

ultimately earning a Master’s Degree from Brooklyn College. He began his career as a

community organizer at the Greater Flatbush Beacon School, and later served as the

Executive Director of NYS Tenants & Neighbors before being elected to office. Jumaane

has a long-standing relationship with the Tourette Association of America. His personal

story and advocacy efforts are creating greater awareness for Tourette Syndrome and the

impact of mental health on society.
