home of an incredible of people ,animals, climates and
spectacular places .it is known for its beautiful colorful
clothing and its history of incredible works of art. africa is
where human variety n beings first appeared on earth and
the home of the worlds first great civilization ,egypt which
dates to 3300 BC.

Africa is considered by most paleoantropologist to be the oldest inhabited

territory on earth ,with the human species originating from the continent.
Antropologist discovered many fossils and evidence of human perhaps as early as
7 million years ago (BP- before present). Fossils remains of several species of
early apelike humans thought to have evolved into modern man, such as
australopithecus afarensis radiometrically dated to approximately 3.9-3.0 million
years BP, paranthropus boisei(c.2.3-1.4 million years BP) and homo ergaster
(c.1.9 million -600,000 years BP) have been discovered. Africa host s a large
diversity of ethnicities, culture and languages.
 HISTORY OF THE PHILIPPINES
People first reached the Philippines about 30,000 years ago, when the first people immigrated
from Sumatra and Borneo via boats or land –brigdes. They were followed by an influx from
Malaysia .More recent immigrants include chinese beginning in the ninth century CE and
spanish conquisadors in the sixteenth.
Ferdinand magellan claimed the philippines for spain in 1521. during the next 300 years,
spanish jesuit priests and conquisadors spread catholicism and spanish culture across the
archipelago, with particular strength on the island of luzon.
The spanish philippines was actually controlled by the government of spanish north america
prior to mexican independence in 1810.
Throughout the spanish colonial era ,the people of the philippines staged a number of
uprising s .The final ,successful revolt began in 1896 and was marred by the executions of
filipino national hero JOSE RIZAL(by the spanish) and ANDRES BONIFACIO( by arrival EMILLIO
AGUINALDO).The philippines declared its independence from spain on june 12,1898.

While pre-spanish filipinos did not have

formal schools ,they were taught reading and
writing in their homes. The children of school
age were taught in their homes by their
mother ,who, in the filipino homes even
today, were first teachers. The fathers trained
their sons to be warriors ,hunters and
fishermen.

AFRICAN MUSICAL TRADITION

Traditional sub-saharan african music is a diverse as

the regions various populations . The common
perception of sub-saharan music is that it is rhythmic
centered on the drums ,indeed a large part of sub-
saharan music mainly among speakers of niger- congo
and nio- saharan languages is rhythmic and centered
of the drum. And another musical tradition also
involves string ,horns and very little poly-rhythms.
 PHILIPPINE MUSICAL TRADITION
Long before the Spaniards arrived in the country indigenous peoples
have already possessed their own native music. It functioned as a form
of entertainment during occasions such as weddings festivals
inaugurations as well as funeral musical styles.
Traditional music and instruments indigenous people or tradition music
is accompanied by musical instruments like string ,wind and percussion.
which are typically made of bamboo , wood or metal . Flutes , pipes and
Panpines are wooden or bamboo finished products, while gong or
Gangsa are constructed from metal. Different singing techniques are
applied between the people up north and inhabitants of the south the
former with more rhythmic expression and the latter with long melodic
phrases.

who are older or of higher status ,
filipinos tend to use the polite
forms of speech.
