T h e s t u dy is m a i n ly a r t i c u l a t e d o n Mitesh’s Theories for cognitive
decline in Hemodialysis (HD) p a t i e n t s a n d Ligon’s T h e o r y of
Hemodialysis Pa t i e n t Behavior wh e r e b o t h s u g g es t s t h a t
patients und ergo ing dialysis a r e p ro n e to anxiety and
eve n t u a l ly psychological d eterio ration .

Pa t i e n t s w i t h e n d - s t a g e r e n a l d is ea s e a r e physically a n d
m e n t a l ly impaired. People a r o u n d t h e m g re a t ly influences
h o w well t h e y b e h ave especially a t t e n d i n g m ed ic al staffs.
METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH DESIGN
This study used a Qualitative Case Study design which
utilized a descriptive approach in data collection.

RESEARCH LOCALE
This study was conducted in one (1) location. The
respondent was interviewed within the vicinity of a Dialysis
center in Marikina city.
KEY INFORMANT SELECTION
A Non-Probability Purposive Sampling Technique wa s used. Ther e
were two (2) participants chosen where t h e y m e e t t h e criteria:
middle-aged w o m a n probably between 40 a n d 65 y ear s of age, a n d
is going t hr ough Hemodialysis
RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS
The r esearcher s designed a self-administered interview questions
a n d used a n electronic equipment (voice recorder) in gathering
necessar y dat a .
DATA COLLECTION
This case study used the primary data collection procedure.

DATA ANALYSIS
The researchers use "Descriptive Analysis" and “Thematic
Analysis” as a way of measuring and weighing of the
recovered data in this research.

Going t h r o u g h Dialysis s t r a i n s p hys i c al , m e n t a l a n d e m o t i o n a l well-
being.

All P a t i e n t s ex p e r i e n c e d a n x i e t y a n d d i s o r i e n t a t i o n i n a c o u r s e of t i m e
a n d t a k e s a h a r d t i m e t o a c c e p t t h e i r condition .

Pa t i e n t ' s fa m i ly a r e t h e m o s t a f fe c t e d s i n c e t h e r e is f e a r of losing a
fa m i ly m e m b e r especi al ly w h e n i t is t h e m o t h e r.
