Addressing a Community Problem

Nursing Diagnosis:

Risk for complications of influenza among children ages


three to five years old related to vaccine hesitancy,
presence of health comorbidities, and lack of knowledge of
the difference between the cold and the flu as manifested
by 289 laboratory confirmed cases of the flu in Arizona this
season and key informant comments regarding improper
use of services for the flu.
Health Education Plan

Plan: Present a tri-fold poster board about the cold versus flu
to a group of parents attending a story time with their children

Date: Friday, November 22nd, 2019 at 10:30AM

Location: Murphy - Wilmot Library

Number of Attendees: Approximately 15-20 adults with their


children attend the Preschool Story Time
