To define Vaccines and its importance
To cite the advantages and disadvantages of Vaccines
To give examples of Vaccines
To convince the public to get vaccinated and immunized
Vaccines
 Are preparations of killed microorganisms, living attenuated
organisms, or living fully virulent organisms that is administered to
produce or artificially increase immunity to a particular disease
 Contains weakened or killed pathogen from which our immune
system can produce antibodies against them, preparing our body
from future infections.
Advantages of Vaccines:
• Provides Herd Immunity
• Protects people from a deadly disease
• Cost – Effectiveness
• Eradication a disease

Consequences of not having Vaccinations:
• Failure to provide herd immunity to unvaccinated
people
• Vulnerability to a deadly disease upon exposure
• Costly medical treatments and hospitalizations
• Can create an outbreak of disease or even Pandemic

Nowadays, people
have been hesitant to get
vaccinated, overlooking the
fact that vaccines have
saved millions of lives in
surviving, preventing and
eradicating various natural
infections.
