PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

- Public Transport could provide better societal and economic benefits to the society as compared to private transport

- UK had invested significant attentions towards the improvements of its public transport system

- There are imbalanced transport expenditure in the UK

- There have been relatively limited explorations regarding the extent of which these transport improvements could provide real-time benefits for the UK

SIGNIFICANCE:

- Bridge the current knowledge gap regarding the actual benefits of public transport investments in the UK

- Providing practical implications to the British government regarding the effectiveness of their investment into the public sector

RESEARCH PLAN:

1. The main objective of this paper is to study the cost effect of public transportation in the UK, particularly on the costs of establishing transportation infrastructure in the country and the effect of these new transportation infrastructures towards the British economies in
overall.

2. Based on the results of the evaluation of public transportation cost effect, this study also aims to identify any problems in the British public transportation infrastructures and further explore the space for public transportation cost-effectiveness.
