• Is a form of energy and is a longitudinal wave

• It is composed of waves of compression and

Properties of Sound Waves
A. Reflection of sound

Echo-
reflected sound
- it is what you
heard shortly after
the original
B. Reverberation
- The repeated sound
reflection
-Usually happens when
the walls of a room
are good sound
reflectors.
c. Refraction of sound
-change in direction,
as the wave moves
from one medium to
another
- It bends or refracts
as they move
through air.
Sound waves refract.
REFRACTION OF SOUND
D. Diffraction of Sound

- Sound waves bend or

diffract around
corners or barriers
