adopted by all United Nations Member States, 2015

world’s future, through 2030
• Have the power to end poverty, fight inequality and stop
climate change

Background on the Goals

• The SDGs were born at the United Nation


Conference on Sustainable Development in
Rio de Janeiro in 2012
• The objective was to produce a set of
universal goals that meet the urgent
environmental, political and economic
challenges facing our world
SDGs - THE 5 Ps

• This Agenda is a plan of


action for people,
planet and prosperity.
• It also seeks to
strengthen universal
peace in larger
freedom.
• All countries and all
stakeholders, acting in
collaborative
partnership, will
implement this plan.
