HOLOGRAPHY
 Holography is a technique that allows the light
scattered from an object to be recorded and later
reconstructed.
 The technique to optically store, retrieves, and
process information.
 Preserve the 3-D information of a holographed
object.
HISTORY
 Dennis Gabor– father of holography and
holographic technologies.
 Dennis wrote a paper in 1947 that has become
the foundation of modern holography.
 In 1971, Gabor was awarded the Nobal prize in
physics for his theory of holography.

TYPES OF HOLOGRAM
 There are two main types of hologram:
 transmission hologram
 Reflection hologram
TRANSMISSION AND
REFLECTION HOLOGRAPHY
TRANSMISSION HOLOGRAPHY:
 Use coherent light
 Reference and object wave traverse the film from the
same side.
 Less sensitive to stability.
REFLECTION HOLOGRAPHY:
 Uses white light.
 Reference and object waves travers the emulsion from
opposite sides.
 Truly 3D image is seen near its surface.
 Expensive but most commonly used in laboratories

PROPERTIES OF
HOLOGRAM
 Any portion of the hologram contains information
of the whole scene.
 Each view is complete, exhibiting both depth and
parallax.
 The “negative” of a hologram alters neither fringe
contrast nor spacing and hence does not modify
the stored information.

Conclusion
 Holographic technology has endless
application as far as human mind can
imagine.
 Holographic technologies are not just
about arty or business communication,
they are about safety ,security and
strength of our civilization here and
beyond.
 Holographic technology will become a
very integral part of human societies and
civilization in future
