someone’s skills, experience,
and educational background.

Things to consider:
• Name should be written in a large bold font
• Use a permanent address that can reliably receive mail.
• Use an appropriate personal e-mail address (first and last name)
(example: alyannaquerimit@gmail.com)
2. Career Profile
CAREER PROFILE
• Caring, compassionate Registered Nurse with seven years experience in
private practice, hospital, and hospice environments
• Experienced Charge Nurse for cardiac and oncology floors for major
teaching hospital
• Strong analytical skills, capable of assessing conditions and implementing
appropriate intervention
• Effective trainer and educator for both peers and patients

Things to Consider:
• Information is presented in organized “bite-sized” chunks.
• Each bullet point describes a different skill or experience
• Uses focused keywords to describe roles, experience and skills

Things to Consider:
• List jobs in reverse chronological order (most recent job first)

Different Types of Resume
Three major types of resume:

1. Chronological
 Lists work history in reverse
chronological order
 Most commonly used
format
 Ideally includes two-three
previous jobs, not more
than 15 years of work
experience

 Focuses on the skills and

Performance Task/Examination
 Write a combination resume for your partner.
It must contain the five components:
1. Contact Information with 1x1 picture
2. Career Profile (3 bullets)
3. Employment History (3 jobs)
4. Educational Background (2 components)
5. Other Skills and Non-Work experience (3 bullets)
Format: Arial 12 and 14 (Name), narrow margins, 1.5 spacing
