ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We are thanking NSS for giving this golden opportunity . We

all are sincerely thank our school principal T.KEERTHI
madam and also our instructor K.GOVARDHAN REDDY SIR to
encourage us in this project . We are very proud to utilize
this golden opportunity .
INTRODUCTION
Now-a-days population is increasing day by day
continuously . So there will be no place to live in our
planet earth . So , we must build a new artificial space
colony . It will have all facilities like on earth to have
drinking water , oxygen and our routine life . NASA gave an
opportunity to all teenagers . By seeing these project they
get nice ideas . we are from 8th class . We are here to do
nasa space colony . We have named it as sputnik the
space colony .
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was
created by the National Aeronautics and Space Act in 1958 . In
our earth there is no sufficient place . So , nasa thought to
create a colony in the space . We are taking bases from moon
and mars . we are using formula for the gravity is fc=mv2/r .
For electricity we are using human powered cycles if any one
pedal it for 1 hour only they get electricity freely and we are
taking some solar panels to store solar energy and use it like
electricity We are using graphene layer to prevent meteorites
. The budget we are using is five hundred trillions . The time
for constructing our space colony is approximately 45 years .
If any asteroids break the Graphene layer by using asteroid
catcher . The weight of our space colony is 2800 metric tons .
population of our space colony is 1.400 lakhs . The area is 13
km^2 .

SPUTNIK DERIVATIONS
We have tried many names . But they are not suitable for our nasa
space colony . At last we thought that our nasa space colony name as
sputnik . Derivation for sputnik is

Sputnik is the world`s first satellite launched into the elliptical low
earth orbit on 4th October 1957 . So that we choose sputnik as our
space colony name .

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.There should be justice to every one .
2.No one should fight in our space colony.
3.No caste discrimination or religion .
4.There should be equality to every one .
5.Mens and womens are equally treated .
6.Every one should follow the rules .
7.Every one should be neat and clean .

CHAPTER-1:-ARTIFICIAL GRAVITY
Artificial gravity has adapted in the humans life in an environment .
So that we all are feeling constant and weightless . In our earth we
have gravity that is 9.8g . Earth has gravity because , earth rotates
and revolves around the sun in its orbit . When an human is forced to
live in a weightless place , a lot of physiological complications takes
place . By longer human stay in the zero gravity environment , human
loses approximately 1.5% of bone mass monthly , decrease of calcium
in blood , because of which the organism extracts calcium from bones
and redirects it to the blood . By this monthly loss a longer abidance
in weightless leads to serious physiological traumas and in the end-
death . This is the major cause of death for colonists , who live in zero
gravity . There are lot of minor causes .
CHAPTER-2:-ATMOSPHERE
The lighter atmosphere is better . The atmosphere must contain
partial oxygen pressure , high enough to provide partial pressure
above the lung vesicles and low enough to prevent decrease in the
mass of blood cell and the major changes in the number and
discrimination of the micro organisms . This pressure must be at least
13.4kPa . The pressure at the sea level is 22.7kPa . Variations are
allowed , but less than 9kPa .
CHAPTER-3:-OXYGEN

PICTURE TAKEN FROM GOOGLE

Oxygen is very useful to our human beings and some living things . We
will keep plants which grows without soil . we will get oxygen from
mars and moon . Oxygen is the main resources we will take from moon
and mars . Even we will take some resources also .
CHAPTER-4:-WATER
Water is vital for the existence of the humans . Every vital process in our
body is connected with water . HO2: 2HO2 + 2HO2
2H2O + 3O2 . As a result we will not only obtain water, but also
oxygen, the two most important elements for the living humans .

CHAPTER-5:-TRANSPORT
5.1.ELECTIC CARS

PICTURE TAKEN FROM GOOLE

Electric Cars use the energy stored in a battery for vehicle propulsion .
Electric motors provide a clean and safe alternative to the internal
combustion engine . Electric car has solar panel to charge battery in the
car . It charges battery when the sun is there only . There are many pros
and cons about electric cars . The electric vehicle is known to have faster
acceleration but shorter distance range than conventional engines . They
produce no exhaust but require long charging times . This page provides
articles about electric car technologies .

5.2.SOLAR CARS
PICTURE TAKEN FROM GOOLGE
Solar cars usually run on only power from the sun, although some
models will supplement that power using a battery, or use solar panels
to recharge batteries or run auxiliary systems for a car that mainly uses
battery power .solar panel car has only solar panel it directly send the
solar energy and starts car . The design of a solar vehicle is severely
limited by the amount of energy input into the car . Some prototypes
have been designed for public use, although no cars primarily powered
by the sun are available commercially. Unlike solar thermal energy which
converts solar energy to heat, PV cells directly convert sunlight into
electricity . When sunlight strike PV cells, they excite electrons and allow
them to flow, creating an electric current . PV cells are made of
semiconductor materials such as alloys of indium, gallium and nitrogen .
CHAPTER-6:-BASES

industries . 25% is for private government . 15% is for factories . 15%
for waste management . 15% is for companies . 10% is for all banks .
We are not using fossil fuels instead of them we are using natural
gases . Natural gases has high calorific values . It burns completely
into the air and does not leave any types of harmful gases . If any
kinds of harmful gases leaved into air we will take that harm full gases
through the pipes to filter the gases and send to 3rd block
(agriculture) so that the plants grow nicely .
Private industries-

9.3.1.we are using plants which grow without soil they are
1. Philodendron

PICTURE TAKEN FROM GOOGLE

An adaptable house plant is philodendron . Philodendrons it has heart
shaped leaves . We don`t have to take care more . It needs water only .
PICTURE TAKEN FROM GOOGLE

Tillandsia plant grows in only air . It is an wonderful species . air plants

grow in a rosette formation, which helps the plants gather water and
nutrients from the environment. They are very colorful blossom . They
are covered with specialized cells capable for the rapidly absorbing
humidity .
PICTURE TAKEN FROM GOOGLE
Marimo moss balls, also known as Cladophora balls, are spherical algae
. They can be grown in an aquarium with fish , or they can live alone in
a jar of water . To maintain marimo moss balls , simply keep them in
low indirect .
4. Aechma

PICTURE TAKEN FROM GOOGLE

Aechma is a member of the Bromeliad family of tropical plants ,
aechmea is often sold in decorative containers in nurseries . The plants
can grow in a small amount of soil , yet in the wild they're nonparasitic
grapplers, with their roots anchored to a host plant. Aechmea thrives in
both light and shade , and it’s not susceptible to many pests .
9.4. 4TH BLOCK (ENTERTAINMENT)
We are keeping entertainment .entertainment are like education ,
theaters , malls , parks ,film city, etc. the diameter of 4th block is 7km .
That is
Hotels-10%

Chapter-10:-TUNNELS

PICTURE TAKEN FROM GOOGLE

There are four big tunnels which are connected to main block . In
each block there are sphere and torus which are connected by four
small tunnels . The length of the big tunnel is 700 meters and small
tunnel is 300 meters . In these tunnels we are constructing roads and
also a side wise lift it goes side wise .so they can go through lifts and
if they want to go by walk or they can go by vehicles on roads .
CHAPTER-11:-ORBITAL LOCATION

DRAWING DONE IN PAINT

We are keeping our space colony in the mars orbit and between mars
and moon . So our space colony can`t touch any planets . It rotates and
revolves around the sun in mars orbit .
CHAPTER-12:-PROTECTIVE LAYERS
12.1.GRAPHENE
Graphene has many uncommon properties . It is the strongest
material ever tested , conducts heat and electricity efficiently, and
is nearly transparent . In single layer of carbon atoms arranged in
a hexagonal lattice . It is a semimetal with small overlap between
the valence and the conduction bands . Graphene is the
combination of graphite and suffix- , named by Hanns peter
Boehm and colleagues . Who produced and observed single
layer carbon foils in 1962 .
PICTURE TAKEN FROM GOOGLE
CHAPTER-13:-ROBOTS
13.1.POLICE ROBOTS

Police robots catch criminals and put them in the jail . Police robots
should be present in all block so that the thieves can`t escape . It is
better to keep more police robots in our society . Police robot has
guns like M249 , SCAR-L , PISTOL , AK47 ,etc. they have roller skates
with boost to go faster and catch criminals . Police robots are very
useful to our space colony .
DRAWING DONE IN PAINT
13.2.PROTECTIVE ROBOT
Protective robots protect us by repairing the layers when the layer is
damaged . It will stay in the main block . If there is any holes in the
graphene layer robots will go there and repair it . Robots has power
boosters in their legs and hands .

DRAWING DONE IN PAINT

13.3.REPAIRING ROBOTS
Repairing robots repair all items which are damaged like repairing
robots , machines ,etc. it repairs fastly . Repaired robots will work and
do their jobs .

CHAPTER-14:-ELECTRICITY
14.1.HUMAN POWERED CYCLE

Manoj Bhargava has built a stationary bike to power the millions of

homes world wide that have little or zero electricity early next year in
India , he plans to distribute 10,000 of his free electric battery equipped
bikes , which he says will keep lights and basics appliances going for an
entire day with an hour of pedaling its so simple that we think we make
it for $100...
PICTURE TAKEN FROM GOOGLE
14.2.SOLAR PANEL

Photo voltaic solar panels absorb sunlight as a source of generate

electricity . A photovoltaic(PV) module is a packaged , connected
assembly of typically 6*10 photovoltaic solar cells . Photovoltaic
modules constitute the photovoltaic array of a photovoltaic system that
generates and supplies solar electricity in commercial and residential
application .
PICTURE TAKEN FROM GOOGLE
CHAPTER-15:-ASTEROID CATCHER
We are designed our asteroid catcher with two cones and holes I the
cone . If any asteroid comes we can know by our research centers . First
cone will come out and opens upper cone and when the meteoroid
come in the cone immediately closes and goes in to the main block .
We will take all materials we want .
