Major Causes of Crane Accident
* Instability due to overloading
* Inadequate Falls
* Mechanical failure
* Contact with power line
* Lack of communication
* Lack of training
* Inadequate Maint./ Inspection
* Select the Crane, which is best suitable to your requirement
* Know the equipment you are working with
* Under stand and interpret load chart
* Look at the ground and site condition
* Secure & restrict access to the lift area
* Clearance of at least 0.6m should be given b/w moving part
of the crane and stationary object
* Crane should not be placed near the edge of the pit. At least
1.5m away from the edge of the pit or half the depth of the
pit which ever is more.
*Min. 6m distance should be maintained b/w
H.T. line and tip of the crane.
* Know your load and radius
* Always use proper rigging practices
* Be aware of surrounding areas, hazards &
obstruction
* load should not be dragged
*swing path should be clear free from
obstructions
* Never walk under the load
THANKS!
