Statement of The Problem
 Now a days there is a radical change in
consumption of food throughout the world. This
mostly occurs in developed countries, this
phenomena can happen in developing countries
which can cause major shift in the balance
between global food demand and supply. This
shift in demand and supply threatens the
sustainability of natural resources.
 Therefore it important to conduct a research on
the issue. So the paper evaluate whether there
are general relationships between economic
growth and food consumption patterns.
2,Objective Of The Article
2.1General objective
 The main objective of the article is to
determine the relationship between food
supply, consumption and income.
2.2Specific objectives
 To determine changes in food consumption
patterns due to economic development.
 To assesse the relationship between GDP and
national per capita food supply of different
regions.
 To determine the gap between national per
capita supply and consumption.
3,Methodology
3.1Research Design
 In this article the type of research design
employed is longitudinal research design.
3.2Population and Sampling Design
 The population in this article the countries
with high and low income, and the sample is
are the 57 countries in which they are
compared for their food consumption
pattern. The sample design is of purposive
sampling technique which is non probability
sampling technique.

3.3Data Type and Source
 This article uses both primary and secondary
sources of data. It collects secondary data
from articles or journal papers, reports and
web based sources. The primary data is
collected from surveys. The type of data
employed for this article is quantitative data
type.
Cont…
3.4Data Analysis tools
 The article employed correlation and
regression analysis technique of the
quantitative data.
 This analysis method is used to examine the
influence of one or more independent
variables on a dependent variable.
 It is used for time series modeling and
finding the causal effect relationship.
4,Major Findings and implications
4.1Major Findings
 In poor countries, the increase in GDP is followed by
changes in food consumption patterns and there is a big
difference between supply and actual consumption of food.
 According to the article there is a supply difference
between poor and rich countries.
 It was found that carbohydrate is the main source of low
income countries’ people nutritional energy, where as
protein consumption was found to be the same as for high
income countries. Fats, meat and dairy are consumed in a
very small quantity.
 The people of high income countries get their nutritional
energy mainly from carbohydrates and fat. Meat and dairy
also have substantial contribution to their diet.
5, Major Strengths and Weakness of the Study

5.1Major strengths
 It clearly states the general and specific
objectives of the study.
 Stepwise procedure of data analysis.
 It uses the graphical presentation which
makes it easier during interpretation and
understanding.
Cont…
5.2 Major weakness
 There is no theoretical and conceptual
frame work, which offers an explanation
why the study is pertinent and how the
researcher expects to fill the gap in the
literature.
 The specific tool of data analysis is not
stated
 some acronyms and abbreviations are
not explained their representation.
