A systematic procedure of taking a series of body
measurements as a means of distinguishing one individual to another. This system was considered the most accurate method of personal identification for two decades. Anthropometry was eventually replaced by fingerprinting in the early 1900 Bertillon’s early efforts have earned him the distinction of being known as “THE FATHER OF CRIMINAL IDENTIFICATION”.
