The Human Rights Code defines it as

1. A disability is defined as a condition or function judged to be


significantly impaired relative to the usual standard of an individual or
group.
2. The term is used to refer any individual functioning Including :-
• Physical impairment

• Sensory impairment

• Cognitive impairment

• Intellectual impairment

• mental illness
 A person’s environment has a huge impact on
experience and extent of disability.

 Inaccessible environment creates disability by


creating barriers to participation and inclusion.
