volume of his memoirs, “Mga Gunita ng Himagsikan (1964),
”translated from the original Tagalog as “Memoirs of the
Revolution” by Sulpicio Guevara (1967).

Aguinaldo wrote some of his experiences in his younger years

in his memoirs.

“I still recall during my childhood, one of the toys that my beloved

father gave me was a huge basket full of blocks two inches square.
These blocks were of different colors and on each face was written
a letter of the alphabet. My father had two motives in giving them
to me- First, that I may have something to play with and, second, to
arouse my interest in the rudiments of learning, particularly the
alphabet.”

On September 1, 1896, Jose Tagle asks Emilio Aguinaldo to help him in invading
the Spaniards in Cavite. So Aguinaldo creates his strategy in invading the Spanish,
since it his first time to make strategies, he failed. His first attempt was to save the
rectory, he tasks the group of General Baldomero Aguinaldo to go to north and the
group of Captain Municipal Tagle was to go to the south. So he gathered again his
soldiers and divides them into three groups surround the north and south of the
hacienda of Imus. With that plan they win the hacienda.

The “Gunita ng Himagsikan” (Memoirs of the Reevolution)
revealed a lot of untold stories behind the Philippine history. It gives
the readers a prior knowledge on what are the specific events that
happened during the colonization of Spaniards and Americans. It
also focused on the war strategies that were developed by the
katipunans. It also tells how non- katipinero Filipinos helped on
fighting against the colonizers.

It also explained the difference between two factions.
