World wide tour including USA and Canada

Claims are dealt by overseas claim
settling agents of insurer.

Overseas Mediclaim Policy
BUSINESS AND HOLIDAY COVER

 Insurance is valid from the first day of insurance or date


and time of departure from India, whichever is later and
expires on the last day specified in the policy schedule or on
return to india whichever is earlier.
 7 days extension is automatic without extra charges.
 Age limit 6mths to 65 years
 Proposers above 45 years visiting USA and Canada and 60
years for other countries , medical examination is must.
 Proposal should be supported by details of findings of
doctor in ECG ,fasting blood and Urine test.
 In case of shortage of time before travel , cover for
diseases is restricted.

Corporate Frequent Traveler
 Officials of the corporate client who are
frequently travelling abroad can be issued
policy under this plan including their
spouse.
 Spouse staying for a longer period than the
insured persons on a particular trip is
allowed
 One trip band should not exceed 60 days
 Per year should not exceed 180 days

Clients aged upto 60 years going abroad
temporarily solely for the purpose of
 Furthering education
 Engaging in research activities
 Temporary posting
 Accompanying

 Accident and sickness
 Medical evacuation
 Repatriation
 Medical emergency reunion
 Minimum period 6 months and
maximum for 12 months can be
extended by prior approval.

Critical Illness Policy
 Covers specified diseases only
 Additional premium for additional diseases (
Paralysis and Blindness)
 Amount chosen is lumpsom from 3 lacs to
25 lacs in multiples of 1 lac
 For coronory artery surgery : limit of
indemnity is 20%
 Survival period of 30 days after diagnosis
 Cover ceases after payment of
compensation ( that is only once).

Critical Illness Policy
 Major diseases covered are Cancer, Renal
failure ie., failure of both kidneys, stroke,
multiple sclerosis, major organ
transplantation like kidney,lung,pancreas or
bone marrow.
 The insured must be gainfully employed
and sum insured should not exceed 5 times
the per annum earning.
 Proposals from persons with intake of
tobacco more than equivalent to 40
cigarettes per day should be declined

Critical Illness Policy
 Persons above the age of 45 years
medical checkup is necessary.
 Additional premium if existence of BP
or diabetes.
 No increase of sum insured during
policy period.
 Pre existing exclusion applies
 Verification of claims under
Mediclaims should be done.

Critical Illness Policy

 Only one policy will be given to one insured


 Policies will be sold only to persons having
existing mediclaim preferably with us.
 As far as possible the cover should be an
add on to our other health policies.
 Waiting period: if the critical illness incepts
or manifests during the first 90 days of the
inception of the policy no claim can be
made.

Reimbursement unlike Mediclaim Policy
 Post-Diagnosis, Survival period of 30
Days must operate, Otherwise no Claim
is payable.
 This is not a OTC product for sale but
very selectively to be offered to well
known Proposers only..

National Critical Illness Policy
New 2018 Versions

 NIC has come out with a New set of Critical Illness


Policies in 2018 with Two Variants. One is a Basic Cover
( Plan A ) and it covers 11 Major Illnesses and another
one (Plan B) which covers 37 Critical Illnesses, with SI
Slabs from Rs 1 Lac to 75 Lacs with Commensurate
Premium Tables and Entry Age of 18 to 65 years ( for
Children 5 to 25 years ). Policy can be taken for Self,
Spouse, Dependent Children and Dependent Parents.
Policy is issued on Non-Floater basis. Family Discount
and Early Entry Discount (EED) ( Up to 42 years age ),
On line Purchase Discount etc are available.
