ISLAM
• Islam is the second largest religion in the world after
Christianity, with about 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide.
• Indonesia-largest Muslim population 200 Million.
• Pakistan – 175 Million
• India- 160 Million
• Bangladesh – 145 Million
• Egypt and Nigeria - &8 Million
• Turkey- 73 Million
• Literally means “surrender or submission”

Muhammad
 The prophet Muhammad, was born in Mecca,

 The Islamic calendar, is a lunar calendar used in
Islamic religious worship. The calendar began in
the year 622 A.D., celebrating the journey of
Muhammad from Mecca to Medina.
 The Islamic calendar indicates the proper days of
Islamic holidays and celebrations, including the
period of fasting and prayer known as Ramadan,
which occurs during the ninth month of the
calendar.

You alone do we worship, and You alone we turn
to for help
Guide us to the straight path;
The path of those on whom You have bestowed
your grace, not (the way) of those who have
earned Your anger, nor of those who went astray.
Hadith
Consist of written narration of Muhammad’s life.
