 PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
• Inform staff members their specific roles during
an emergency
• Provide the staff regular training sessions
• Maintain complete record of all activities during
drills and actual incidents
• Resolve administrative and legal issues
regarding relocations and evacuation of people
and property
• Coordinate with all the other teams on their
basic requirements before, during and after a
disaster, until everything is back to normal
• Formulate basic actions steps for the team.
 MEDIA MANAGEMENT
• Oversee all external communications during
emergency
• Ensure that clear and fast communication systems
are in place
• Gather, compile, and coordinate information for
media dissemination
• Gather complete list of government and private
organizations that can provide information and
assistance before, during and after an emergency
and disaster, i.e. Red Cross, Hospital, Fire
Department, Police Department, Disaster Council,
etc.
• Inform donors/or institutions regarding their
donation, gifts or loaned objects
 COLLECTION MANAGEMENT
COLLECTION REGISTRY
• Make a complete inventory/registration of
collection and their location
• Identify the collection’s vulnerability to
hazard and risk
• Prioritize objects to evacuate first, if
necessary
• Provide a list of prioritized objects
evacuated and their physical condition
• Formulate basic action steps for the team
 COLLECTION MANAGEMENT
CONSERVATION
• Classify the objects with respect to the degree of
damage and origin
• Identify the objects’ vulnerability to bacterial or
mould contaminations
• Recommend measures for preventive
conservation
• Supervise handling of highly damaged objects,
and recommend presence of specialized
conservator’s if required
• Formulate basic action step for the team
 COLLECTION MANAGEMENT
RECOVERY
• Set guidelines for relocating or evacuating
the collections
• Recommend procedures and techniques
for evacuating, salvaging and recovering
prioritized objects
• Ensure the safety of the collections inside
the temporary recovery shelter

BUILDING AND MAINTENANCE
• Save lives and prevent or reduce injury
• Prepare utilities and environment system of
documentation
• Survey buildings, surroundings, systems and identify
priorities

• Develop the building and maintenance team with
respective job descriptions

• Prepare outline report of response procedures and
techniques before, during and after a fire incident

• Evaluate security procedures currently in place
• Evaluate security force and monitoring of people
• Provide security of NM visitors, employees, and
collections before, during and after an emergency
• Make daily, weekly and periodic activity checklist
• Recommend security-related protective measures
• Coordinate with building system team regarding
evacuation routes for people, collections, emergency
equipment and shelters
• Prepare report of response procedures and techniques
during an emergency
• Prepare basic action steps for the team

SAFETY AND WELFARE
• Saves lives and prevent/reduce injury
• Recognize major-threatening medical emergencies
• Respond for immediate emergency assistance
• Prepare and always stay alert for any medical

from public sight if possible
• Identify potential temporary shelters/safe room for first
