Electrical Fittings
Never use 5A socket for high power loads such as Acs,
blower heaters etc.
Make sure that when you leave your home or workplace,
all the electrical equipment are turned off and plugged out.
Never leave your computer, laptops, mobiles and other
electrical equipment plugged in or on stand-by when not
in use.
Never use any wire without proper male plug. The wire
with naked ends inserted into the sockets can cause
sparking due to loose connection and can eventually lead
to an electrical fire.
Never plug in or plug out electrical wires with wet hands.
Make sure there are no water spills near the electric
sockets as moisture can lead to electric shock.
Always switch off the socket before plugging out or
plugging in.
Never yank the appliances from electrical wires. Always
pull using the plug.
Always use plugs and sockets compatible with each other.
Never use damaged or heated up sockets.
If flickering is observed in any light in your workplace or in
your home, turn it off and arrange its replacement.
If any abnormal sound is coming from any fan, switch the
fan off and inform the concerned for rectification.
Make sure that you know the location of main circuit breaker
in your area. In case of any electrical emergency, always
rush to turn it off.
If there are improper joints in the wires or the insulation of the
wire has deteriorated, immediately take needful measures for
its rectification.
If a person gets an electrical shock, never touch the person
directly while he/she is in contact with electrical circuit.
In case of an electrical fire, never use water to extinguish the
fire.
Never block access to sockets and supplies being used.
Before use of electrical appliances, carry out visual
inspection of plug and cord for any visible damages. In
addition, do not use it until it has been rectified.
Always use good quality extension leads and do not overload
them. Route loose cables properly so that they do not
become a tripping hazard.
Ensure that all the electrical DBs have a clear and easy
access to them. Do not place any clothes, books, flammable
material or other spare items in front of them.
Extension leads and other cables should not be placed under
the carpets or routed through windows or doors.
In case of tripping of a circuit breaker, never reset it on your
own and always inform the concerned authority.
Never use washing machines, electrical irons and other
electrical appliances with bare foot.
Curtains in the house or office should not cover the
electrical sockets.
Insulating tape or dead plugs should be applied on all
unused sockets so that children are not exposed to to
them.
