Types Of Configuration

• Bridge Mode--Only one desktop/laptop can be


made run on internet unless it is not on
networking.

• PPPOE Mode (Always ON Mode)--Can be made


run internet on number of desktops/laptops via
switch & Wi-Fi.
Bridge Mode
Login in to the Modem
(1) Open the Internet Explorer and enter
http://192.168.1.1.
(2) In the LOGIN page that is displayed, enter
the username and
password. The default user name and password
are admin
and
admin
respectively.
Click On Configuration
Click On internet Connection
Delete PPPOE_0_35 connection
Add A New Connection
Put PVC Name=Bridge, VPI=0,
VCI=35
Select Option--Bridging
Remain WAN IP Settings On
Automatic Mode
Apply The Settings
Click On Admin & Then On
Reboot Option
Reboot The Modem ,It will take
approx. 2mins. for Rebooting
For Creating Dialler For Broadband
Connection In Window-XP
In the bottom left hand corner of your screen,
click the
"Start" button.
In the menu, click
"Control Panel".
If the Control Panel opens in
Category View, click on "Switch to
Classic View".
Double Click on "Network
Connections".
On the left menu, click "Create a New
Connection".
now have a
window that
says
"Welcome to
the New
Connecion
Wizard". In
the bottom
right of this
window,
click "Next".
Select
"Connect to
the Internet",
and click
"Next".
Select "Set up
my
connection
manually",
and click
"Next".
"Connect
using a
broadband
connection
that requires a
user name and
password",
and click
"Next".
In the box
under "ISP
Name" type
BSNL “BSNL"
(without the
quotations),
and click
"Next".
Type your
BSNL User
name into the
box next to
"User name",
then type your
BSNL
password into
the "Password"
and "Confirm
Password"
fields, and click
Click "Finish" to
complete the
connection setup.
If you would like
a shortcut of the
dialer placed on
your desktop to
allow easy access
to it, put a tick in
the box next to
"Add a shortcut to
this connection to
my desktop".
In the window
that appears,
double check
that the User
name is correct
and click
"Connect".
PPPOE(Always ON) Mode

Login in to the Modem

Types Of Errors & Remedies
Problem Error-691
Description User id and Password problem.
Remedy The case is to be referred to NIB. NIB Team will reset the password and
intimate that password has been reset.

Problem Error-769
Description LAN not enabled.
Remedy The LAN Card has to be enabled by following the steps given below.
i) Go to Desktop.
ii) Click "My Network Place".
iii) Select Properties.
iv) Click "Enable the local network".
Types Of Errors & Remedies
Problem Error- 797
Description Modem or LAN driver problem
Remedy check computer LAN Card driver. If It is not working properly or not
installed, ask customer to install the same.

Problem Site not opening from Data One


Description i)Internet explorer is not supporting the Pope (may be pirated OS).
ii)Virus corrupting Internet explorer.
Remedy The customer is requested to set it right.
Types Of Errors & Remedies
Problem Error-678
Description This is most common problems. It is due to poor connectivity. Problem can
be anywhere between B.RAS - Tier 2 - DSLAM - Modem - PC of the
customer.
Remedy Switch off / Switch on Modem (Power Switch at the back of modem ) and wait
for 2 minutes. Then retry.
  If problem is not solved then Reset Modem [Back pin (in the hole) to be
pressed in switched ON condition]

  If problem is still not solved then


a)Check link /DSL light in Modem . If it is blinking, then it is line problem.
b)Check Modem to splitter connectivity.
i) Jack in & Jack out the cable of / to the modem and to the splitter
ii)Jack in & Jack out the telephone connection of the splitter.
  If link/DSL light is still blinking - then it is due to poor line condition / fault.
The case has to be referred to Area Broadband Team for attending the fault.
Types Of Errors & Remedies
Problem Error-651
Description Your modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error
Remedy To resolve Error 651, first ensure that the modem is correctly connected to
the PC and telephone line, with all points covered with broadband filters.
Ensure that full connectivity is indicated on the modem. Having checked
these things - restart. If this does not resolve the error 651, go through an
uninstall and reinstall of the modem software.
Ping Test
• Go To Start
• Go To Run
• Type “ping 192.168.1.1 -t”
• See The Result
If the Ping Command is responding
Then It means modem Is responding

• For P2 System ::
Log in to Broadband, Go to 10.240.43.216 or
10.150.128.195. Put up User name & password and Click
on Service Record. Details of the current month usage and
previous month will be shown.

• For Multiplay System ::


Log in to Broadband, Go to www.dataone.in. Go to usage
Detail portal. Put up User name & password and Click on
Service Record. Details of the current month usage and
previous month will be shown.
