“SOLAR POWERED WATER-WHEEL”

ENVIRONMENTAL MISSION

Our mission is to declutter the San Juan River by using

a machine called Solar Powered Water Wheel for the
safeness of the people who are living near the area. It
also aim to reduce the man power and time
consumption in cleaning.

SAN JUAN RIVER (it passes through Quezon City, San
Juan, the Manila district of Santa Mesa and Santa Ana,
and Mandaluyong.)
The San Juan River is one of the main river systems
in Metro Manila, Philippines, it is 10 km long.
To get the average volume in yards daily

Formula:
Total number of volume in yards divided by total number
of days equals’ average volume in yards daily.
197 yards ÷ 8 days = 24.625 yards
To get the number of volume in yards in a number
of days

Formula: Average volume in yards daily times’

number of days equals the number of volume in
yard in the number of days.
24.625 yards x 447 days = 11,007.375 volume in
yards in 447 days.
To get the number of days
Formula:

1 yard is equals to 0.0009144 km

X yards is equals to 10 km
X is equals to number of yards
Number of yards travel in 447 days is converted into km.
11,007.375 yards convert into 10.07 km
II. Project Background

The water-wheel is a stay put vessel powered by solar

panels and can be controlled remotely to follow the
current of the river and to catch all the flowing trash. The
machine that will use in the project is less expensive than
others as it is powered by solar panels, that’s why it is eco
and budget-friendly.
San Juan River’s natural beauty is slowly fading because of
the water pollution caused by the carelessness of the
community. The polluted area can possibly be the habitat
of mosquitoes or some organism that can cause illnesses.
IV. Project Methodology
Work Breakdown
Local Governments (like the Governor, Mayor,
Barangay Captain, Barangay Chairman etc.). They are
assigned to lead and monitor all the activities that
will going to do. They are also responsible for
budgeting the money that are going to use in the
specific area.

The Street Cleaners. Responsible for cleaning and

guarding the area.
