or individuals to identify its strengths, weakness, opportunities
and threats.

 This framework helps organizations in utilising its strengths for

taking advantage of opportunities and also therefore overcome its
weaknesses.

 The company selected for the purpose of this study is Intel. Intel
is a multinational technology company based in America.

 The main aim of the paper is to discuss about its journey in

becoming the market leader, the difference between DRAM vs.
Processors, market share and SWOT Analysis. On other note, you

Journey to being the industry leader
 Intel became a household name due to the experience that it provided to the
consumers.

 In the year 1990, the company decided to carry out branding activity of its
microprocessor chip as one of the main features that would help customers in
buying computers.

 At that era, computers were bought by people because of its specs, or a

recommendation from a friend or software but nobody cared for the microchips
inside the mother board because it was not even visible to the people.

 Intel however saw this situation of lack of ability of customers to differentiate

computers from each other and therefore invested millions of dollars for growing.

 The company therefore engaged in creating an Intel experience where everyone

felt as if they were touching the future. Further the company was able to provide
a good experience to its customers at the exhibit because of its visible CEO.
DRAM vs. Microprocessors
 DRAM or Dynamic ram is one of types of RAM consisting of a capacitor and a
single transistor.

 SRAM is bigger than DRAM and therefore DRAM is capable of storing data in a
smaller area. However SRAM is faster than DRAM to the times of charge and
discharge of capacitor.

 The chips of DRAM are generally used in all those electronic devices where
high capacity and low cost memory is used.

 It is however used as the main memory in graphic cards and modern

computers.

 On the other hand, microprocessors are electronic components that are used
in computers for doing their work.

 It is a CPU or a central processing unit operating on a single integrated chip

comprising of millions of resistors, transistors and thereby diodes their work.
Market share

The market share of Intel in the CPU

market has grown from 77 % in the
year 2014 to 82% in the year 2016.
