ORIENTATION ON

INTERNSHIP FOR
2ND SEMESTER – M.B.A
BATCH: 2018 - 2020
INTRODUCTION
 Internship is an integral part of the academic
curriculum of VTU MBA. It is an initiative to
bridge the gap between knowledge and its
application through a series of interventions that
will enable students of VTU MBA program to gain
insights and exposure to the industry.

 The 25 Days Internship has been positioned during


2nd Semester/3rd Semester of the MBA program as it
serves the twin purposes of providing critical
business insights to students as well as providing
industry with graduates of high caliber who are
ready to get ahead in the world from day one.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
 Nature of Internship: The student will have to
identify an Internship in a business enterprise.
They are expected to study the functioning of an
organization, Nature of Industry and Nature of
Business, vision, mission, goals and objectives.
SWOT Analysis, different departments etc. It is
like an On-the Job Training.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
 The Internship shall be for a period of 25 Days
immediately after completion of 2nd Semester
theory exams. Students are expected to take up
the preliminary work such as Identifying the
Organization

 Period of Internship : 8th July to 3rd August 2019


GENERAL GUIDELINES
 Internal Guide of the Internship is a full time
faculty member working in management
department of respective institution with
minimum of 3 years of experience.
 External Guide is from the business organization
where the student is carrying out his/her
Internship
 Maximum of 10 Students can work under an
Internal Guide.
 Internal Guide is expected to be in continuous
interaction with External Guide during the course
of Internship.

 Chapter 1: Introduction – Introduction about the Internship. Introduction and


Description of different departments in the organization. Company Policy,
Nature of Business and Industry

 Chapter 2: Industry Profile and Company Profile – (Promoters, Vision, Mission &
Quality Policy, Products/Services profile, Ares of Operation, Infrastructure
facilities, Competitors information, SWOT analysis, Future growth and prospects
and Financial Statements. McKinseys 7s Framework
GENERAL GUIDELINES
 Format of the Internship Report: It should be
prepared using MS Word, Times New Roman,
Font size of 12, Page Layout of A4 size with “1”
margin on all sides and 1.5 line spacing. The
internship report shall not exceed 75 Pages.

 SUBMISSION OF INTERNSHIP REPORT:


Students should submit the internship report in
Hard Copy to your respective Project Guides in
SPIRAL BINDING only.
