Colin Kapernick's Protest and Influence on Active Voters

Introduction
Within this experiment we developed a
theory that famous activist and NFL
quarterback Colin Kapernick's, could
influence individuals that participated in
this past Presidential election.

This source ties the Colin Kapernick's protest
to events in with Black History. It also
explores how the media and popular opinion
has effect on the outcomes of events. The
article also explains how social media and the
types of comments of support and decent
changed the outcome of the protest.
The researcher says “ I looked for specific
themes to illustrate how #ColinKaepernick
can be used to draw parallels with the plight
and public condemnation of African
American activists in U.S. history. I will use
subthemes that I can derive from the legacy
of Jack Johnson as well as other activist
African American athletes, such as
“Reclaiming the Great White Hope” and
“When Black Equality Is Viewed as
Militant.” Such sub themes directly connect
Kapernick's to his predecessors.

Hypothesis & Questions
H1: Does political affiliation and media bias affect
how people feel about the Colin Kapernick's
protest?
H2: Does race affect how people view the
Kapernick's Protest?
Method
Throughout this experiment, in order to prove
our hypothesis to be significant, we created and
conducted a survey with a few students from
North Carolina A&T. Participants were given a Results

Results
The data was collected on a Qualtrics survey from
3/21 to 4/21 39 participants were recruited and
filled out the questionnaire. Those who
participated were required to fill out a multiple
choice survey, where they selected answers that
they believed best expressed how he/she felt about
each question being asked.
