GUIDE NAME:Dr.K.SREEKALA
MOTIVATION

• The objective of this project is to analyze

dataset which consist of numerous crimes and
predicting the type of crime which may
happen in future depending upon various
conditions.
PROBLEM DEFINITION

• Crime is one of the biggest and dominating problem in our

society and its prevention is an important task. Daily there are
huge numbers of crimes committed frequently. This require
keeping track of all the crimes and maintaining a database for
same which may be used for future reference. The current
problem faced are maintaining of proper dataset of crime and
analyzing this data to help in predicting and solving crimes in
future.
Existing System

• Support vector machine is a technique that has been emerged for the
analysis of data for the classification process.
• The support vector machine is also known as support vector networks. The
SVM uses a set of training data where each one has been labeled into one
of two categories
Disadvantage of Existing system:
• Selecting the best kernel and time consumed for training and testing.
• In case of SVM as the training set increases the speed of execution
decreases.
Proposed System

• Naïve Bayes is simple and converges quicker than logistic

regression(SVM).
• Using Naïve Bayes algorithm we create a model training crime data related
to vandalism ,murder ,robbery ,burglary ,sex abuse ,gang rape ,arson
,armed robbery ,highway robbery ,snatching etc.
• Test results shows that Naïve Bayes shows more than 90% accuracy.

Advantage of Proposed System:

• Works well for small amount of training to calculate the classification
parameters.
