INNOVATIVE MATERIALS
FOAM - Foam is the most common material used to
provide support in the uppers of shoes of all sorts, be
they leather, textile, synthetic or even rubber. The
different types of foam used for this purpose are
innumerable, though they’re all generally divided into
two categories: open and closed cell. All foam is made
from plastic.
3-D PRINTING- Fully 3D printed shoes still seems to have a
long way to go. But some brands have been developing their
own products moving in that direction. Olivier van Herpt
mostly known for his implementation of 3D printing in
traditional crafts such as potteryhas also created his own
shoes, to make a product that fits the exact measures of each
wearer’s foot. By utilizing 3D scanning and 3D printing he
created unique, lightweight and strong open structure
RECYLCLED POLYSTER- Recycled polyester (rPES) is a
synthetic fiber based on waste, such as plastic bottles and used
garments. The raw material is reprocessed and spun into fibers.
Using recycled polyester has many benefits over virgin
polyester. It helps us to reduce our dependency on non-
renewable petroleum and decreases our carbon impact when
compared to conventional polyester. Polyester is the most used
material in adidas products, and using more recycled polyester
is one way we seek to improve our environmental footprint
RECYCLED NYLON- Standard nylon is made from petroleum.
Recycled nylon is made from post-industrial and post-consumer
waste, including discarded industrial fishing nets that are
sometimes left in the ocean. In general, using recycled
nylon has many benefits over standard nylon: it helps reduce
our dependence on petroleum and allows us to discharge less
waste, contributing to a reduction in toxic emissions from
incinerators that would otherwise be needed for waste disposal.
PHTHALATES-Phthalates are important concerns for
plastic and rubber footwear. Phthalates or phthalate
esters are a group of chemical compounds that are
mainly used as plasticizers to increase the flexibility of
plastic. For example, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) can be
turned from a hard plastic into a flexible plastic by
adding plasticizers. Substitutes for phthalates may
include acetyl tributyl citrate (ATBC), alkylsulfonic
phenylester (ASE), diisononyl adipate (DINA) etc.
LATEST DESIGNS
KUNG FU SHOE- The Kung Fu shoe is a type of shoe that
is made in China and was worn while practising kung fu and
other material arts. It is typically in black. It is made of cloth and
plastic sole. Variants of this shoe are now produced largely for
general purpose wear. You can band it and fold it the way you
can.
COOL ORGAN SHOE- Organ shoe is designed to
facilitate the playing of the organ’s keyboard and is worn by
organists. As it is worn only at the organ, it avoids picking up of
grit which could stain the pedal keys. It has slightly higher
leather heels to have eased on playing with the heel. It is having
a special use for a special purpose.
JUMP SOLE SHOES - Jump sole shoe was primarily invented for
basketball players. It is like a platform attached to your shoes. It is useful in
jumping practice. Currently, this platform is used by athletes in other sports
also. It gets tightly fix on your feet and let you jump high to basket. Here the
surface is spongy.
SKATE SHOES - Skate shoes are manufactured to be used in
skateboarding. The design of skate shoes includes a vulcanized rubber with
minimal thread pattern. Double stitching is done to extend the life of the
upper material. A pad is included for comfort. It is light-weight as even
skateboard will come with these shoes
ROLLER SHOES- Rolling shoes have wheels attached on the back. It is a
kind of shoe which allows the wearer to choose between walking and rolling.
If you want to roll, you can open the wheels. Otherwise, it will get adjusted in
its space. The wheels are projected slightly beside the heel. The laces are
thick here.
LATEST
DEVELOPMENTS
Pressure sensors are used to provide information on
the distribution of body weight mid-gait.
Ambient environmental sensors, including
atmospheric pressure, light, and sound sensors, are
used for acquiring data from altitude-dependent
activities and the surrounding environment.
Internal status sensors are used to provide
information on battery and memory capacity.
Besides sensor recording, data acquisition systems
often have cloud-based transmission abilities.
Raw sensor data is processed to get relevant
information using filters, drift correction Etc.
