EMPOWERMENT RETREAT

THE RETREAT

• This retreat is an empowering adventure for navigating through life’s


transitions. It will take place outdoors in Eagle, Colorado.
• The retreat is being hosted by Harvest Life Church in Woodbridge, Virginia.
• It will help women shift fear to courage and discover a more powerful sense
of self. During the retreat, women will learn techniques for navigating
through life’s transitions and be able to tap into your own strength and
wisdom with the guidance of nature and God.
HARVEST LIFE CHURCH

• Harvest Life Church is a church that believes in Jesus, loves God, loves people and has a heart
for authentic worship and seeing individuals and families grow and be empowered spiritually.
They are passionate about the local church fulfilling its purpose on the earth.
• Bishop Lyle Dukes and Pastor Deborah Dukes are the founders and Senior Pastors of the
Harvest Life Church, a ministry of over 8,000 members in Woodbridge, Virginia.
• Founded Harvest Life over 21 years ago
PURPOSE

• This retreat is for you if you are(not limited to these):


 struggling with changes in your life
 Feeling overwhelmed with work, family, a relationship, or anything else you
may experience throughout your week
 Grieving or having trouble coping with a death
 Experiencing divorce
 Feeling lost, confused, or stuck
 Looking for powerful skills to manage your transitions and emotions
GOAL

• The goal of this event is to not only empower women, but to guide them
through adventures that will reconnect and rejuvenate them by learning to
be one with God and nature in a way that soothes and informs.
OBJECTIVES

• To reach new heights in your self-awareness over the course of 5 days and 4
nights.
• To learn to echo natures deep stillness for an hour each day
• To learn skills to name and tame your emotions over the course of 5 days.
WHAT IS INCLUDED?
• 5 days / 4 nights at a private glamping retreat near Vail, CO
• 2 professional coaches / guides
• A powerful circle of women to support each other
• Hearty, nutritious meals prepared lovingly by the retreats personal chef
• Find your courage through a Rock Climbing adventure with professional guides and Susie Kincade,
nature-based coach.
• Learn a powerful model for moving Fear over and embracing Transition, led by Deborah Dukes.
• Full-day Colorado River Adventure: Navigating Your River of Life; professionally guided
by Timberline Tours and led by Susie Kincade
• Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Nature Valley Hike, high ropes course
• 5 yoga-by-the-creek sessions 
• Group circles, sharing, and devotional bible studies to integrate new wisdom
• Time to Re-Source, Reconnect & Rejuvenate in nature

VENDORS
• Transportation Vendors:
- Shuttle service from the airport to the retreat. Will be using ShuttleWizard to
get from the site of the church to Dulles Airport.
- Flight from Virginia to Colorado
• Massage envy: Groupon tickets used for the group massages and sauna
during the retreat
• Clements Pastry Shop: Guest speakers were given an assorted basket of
pastries from Clements Pastry Shop as a thank you
• Fragrance Shop Wholesale Department: Guest speakers were given two
fragrances as a thank you.
BUDGET

• Budget
• The starting budget: $6,500
• The retreat has agreed to sponsor the event for the exposure and marketing. They are a new retreat and want to
get there name out to the public as best they can.
• Shuttle service to the airport from the church for the 80 women that said they needed transportation to the airport:
$1,617
• Booking the guest speakers: $2,000
• Pastry Baskets for the two speakers: $350
• Fragrances for the two speakers: $117.18
• Thank you Plaques for the speakers: 179.95
• “Trusting God Day by Day: 365” Devotional by Joyce Meyer for the 200 attendees: $2,562
• Grand Total: $6,826.13
• $326.13 over budget
TECHNOLOGY

• For the sake of the retreat and the purpose of the retreat, all cell phones
and electronics were confiscated throughout the week. We wanted to limit
the risk of distraction. Attendees were allowed on their phones during meals
and free time.
• Phones are accessible in any case of an emergency and the facilities do
have updated and free wifi for guests.
COMMUNICATIONS

• Communication with speakers, attendees, and vendors will be done in a


number of ways:
- Through ministry at church
- Email
- Over the phone
FOOD & BEVERAGE
• Breakfast Varies from:
- Pancakes, Waffles, or French Toast
- Muffins( banana nut, blueberry, chocolate chip)
- Eggs, grits, bacon, or hash browns
- Assortment of fruit (cantaloupe, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, mango, grapes)
- Cranberry juice, orange juice, water, ginger ale, tea
• Lunch Varies from:
- Baked Chicken or Salmon with brown rice and vegetables(broccoli, baby carrots, asparagus, green beans)
- Chicken Caesar salad or any dressing of your choice (balsamic vinaigrette, French dressing, ranch)
- Turkey or Ham Sandwiches (lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, mustard or mayo)
• Dinner Varies from:
- Spaghetti with meat sauce, Three cheese Lasagna, Chicken alfredo, Chicken and Cheese Casserole
- Side salad with dressing of your choice
- Pepsi soda products, tea, lemonade, water

• The retreat will be marketing through:


- Harvest Life Church
- Harvest Life Church Twitter and Facebook
- We plan to target members of the church that are a part of the women’s groups
as well as women outside of the church. That is where twitter and Facebook
become useful
PUBLICS & ATTENDEES
• We are marketing this event to single Christian women. This does not
mean that married women cannot attend.
• The age group is 21 and older

• Assorted basket of pastries


• Two fragrances (perfume)
• Thank You Plaque with their name and the event name on it
