SUB FRAME
LADDER
FRAME
So named for its
resemblance to a
ladder, the ladder
frame is the simplest
and oldest of all
designs. It consists
merely of two
symmetrical rails, or
beams, and cross
members connecting
them. Originally seen
on almost all vehicles
UNI BODY
MONOCOQUE
Monocoque or uni
body construction, in
which the "chassis" is
part of, and integrated
with the metal body. It
provides support to all
the mechanical
components, as well as
protection for the
vehicle occupants.
Although there is no
separate complete
frame or chassis
SUB FRAME

• The sub frame, or stub frame, is a boxed

frame section that attaches to a unibody. Seen
primarily on the front end of cars, it's also
sometimes used in the rear. Both the front
and rear are used to attach the suspension to
the vehicle and either may contain the engine
and transmission

PANEL
BEATING
Panel beating is the
most basic of all body
repair techniques, but
is also one of those
that requires the most
skill. As a body person
you will learn how to
expertly get rid of
bumps, dents, and
breaks using various
panel-beating
techniques and tools.

GETTING RID OF RUST

With rust proofing, one will need to know how

and why rust occurs so you can effectively
prevent it and get rid of it when it forms on
any body part. You will also learn about the
many products and techniques that are
involved with rust removal and rust inhibiting.
CUTTING & WELDING
Welding means using heat to attach two pieces of
metal. There are two ways to generate enough heat to
do this. Either gas or electricity.
There are different types of welding.
They include arc welding, carbon-arc welding, oxy-
acetylene welding, MIG welding and TIG welding.
There are also various welding techniques, including
brazing, heat shrinking, spot welding and joint welding
Gas welding can also used for cutting panels
GAS
WELDING
A Gas welding is done by
heating panels with a gas flame
 or  flames  obtained  from  the
 combustion  of acetylene with
oxygen, with or without the
application of pressure, and
with or without the use of filler
metal.

Gas welding is most basic and

commenly used method of
welding in automotive body

Gas welding is used to cut the

metel as well to joint the matel
panels
SPOT
WELDING

Spot welding is a
process in which
contacting metal
surfaces are joined by
the heat obtained
from resistance to
electric current flow.
Work-pieces are held
together under
pressure exerted by
electrodes
MIG WELDING

Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) is frequently

referred to as MIG welding.  MIG welding is a
commonly used high deposition rate welding
process.  Wire is continuously fed from a
spool.
MIG welding is therefore referred to as a
semiautomatic welding process
TIG WELDING

In TIG welding an arc is formed between a non

consumable tungsten electrode and the metal
being welded. Gas is fed through the torch to
shield the electrode and molten weld pool.  If
filler wire is used, it is added to the weld pool
separately
PLASMA ARC WELDING
Plasma arc welding (PAW) is a advanced version of the tungsten inert gas
(TIG) welding process. TIG welding has a free-burning arc, which is
unstable and tends to wander in the low current range. With increase in
current, the arc power increases and the arc diameter also increases.

This leads to a lack of concentrated power in the work-piece, which

results in a bigger seam and a larger heat-affected zone. Unlike TIG-
welding torches, PAW uses a constricting nozzel and employs two
separate gas flows, which give rise to a concentrated plasma arc having a
narrow columnar shape.

The plasma column is now stabilized along the axis of the electrode and is
more intense than the TIG-welding arc. The column temperature is
10,000-24,000 K compared to 8,000-18,000 K in case of TIG-welding
PLASMA ARC WELDING

Plasma arc welding (PAW) is a

advanced version of the
tungsten inert gas (TIG)
welding process.

COMPUTERISED BODY ALIGNMENT
SYSTEM
By using the specially designated
jigs it can simultaneously correct
body damage and control
realignment by accurate
measurement of critical
dimensions. The car is then
reassembled on the alignment
system, thereby ensuring
restoration is completed to the
original manufacturers
specifications and tolerances.
