LOGIQ-B

What is LOGIQ-B?

• The LOGIQ-B is a networked real time data acquisition

logging system in that the data is processed as acquired
and presented in graphical form

• The data processing is done on an Intel compatible based

microprocessor with Microsoft Windows as the operating
system
Downhole Equipment Support

• Digital Interactive Telemetry System (DITS)

• Hostile Environment Telemetry System (HETS)
• FASLINK Telemetry (INSITE)
• Analog Services (Pulse, Waveform, and DC)
• Perforating Services
• Specialty Services (RDT / MRIL)
Wireline Modes

Mode Instrument Auxiliary Telemetry

DITS W5 (AC) W2 (DC) W6 : DL, W7 : UL
HOSTILE W2 (DC) W5 (AC) W6 : DL, W7 : UL
INSITE W3 (AC) W6 (DC) W5
LOGIQ-B Subsystem
The LOGIQ is a digital logging system and such can be
separated into three functional subsystems

• Input / Power Subsystem

• Processing Subsystem

• Output Subsystem
Tool Input / Power Subsystem

• WSP7 • MATSUSADA
• ELGAR-1 • XMP
• ELGAR-2 • PTC
• CALIFORNIA (AC3) • CHIP
• XANTREX (DCPS)

Wireline Shooting Panel (WSP7)
SAFE Mode

• Direct themode
In SAFE wireline to PTC in the LOG position
NO wireline In SAFE mode each conductor
conductors pass through is individually grounded through
• Configure the
WSP7 to PTC
wireline for internal signal and power processing
independent sets of two 10kΩ
in the
casing collar locator (CCL), SAFE, and ARM positions
resistors in parallel
• In the LOG position, WSP7 is transparent to the power and signal
• WSP7 can apply shooting power to line 7 ONLY
• WSP7 can record shooting current and voltage in perforating
ELGAR
• Provide AC power to the tools 2nd : push output ‘on’
1250VA : push program button
1 st button to attach power

2500VA 3rd :How to apply

turn the knob topower manually?
apply power
CALIFORNIA (6kVA)

• Used by services that require the highest power consumption like

the motor power for RDT or HRSCT
• The output can be configured for wirelines modes W2 and W6
XANTREX

• Provides DC power to the tools

• It can be configured as :
a) Single 600Vdc
b) Double 1200V using both power supplies in series
XANTREX S/D LED turns on

Standby sw

Rear Panel SW1 assignments 4th : turn the knob to apply power
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
To apply power OFF 2nd : Change SW1-7
manually ON to ‘Off’ position

3rd : @Front Panel push REM/LOCAL

1st & Caution! before makingswitch
any changes to SW
to it’s ‘out’ settings, disable p/s first by
position
pushing the standby sw to it’s ‘in’ position. This temporary shuts down p/s.
The front panel S/D LED turns on.
MATSUSADA

• It can give extra DC power to CHIP panel in case CHIP

internal tool power supply is no enough to feed the toolstring
such as for DPU
• Rating 600V 2.5A
Transformer Mode Panel (XMP)

• 4 heavy power transformer whose primary and secondary windings

are combined by a series of relays in order to supply the power
demand in the different cable modes depending on the services
• It looks the same as XFMR panel of LOGIQ-A but it is different
inside. Therefore, we cannot swap it.
Power and Telemetry Control panel (PTC)
• PTC = DIMP (DITS tools and INSITE tools)
+ PTMP (RDT and HRSCT)
+ DCCP (MRIL and RSCT)
• Voltage and Current are monitored for conductors 1 thru 6 and
controls AC1 ELGAR 1250VA, AC2 ELGAR 2500VA, AC3
California Instrument 6kVA, DC XANTREX 1200
• Provides test point to check continuity and isolation of the
wireline
PTC (DITS HET)
Tools :
Triple Combo, HSFT, Hostile ,CAST
SFTT (High Aux Power)
HRSCT-No PTMS, MRIL, CAST-
EMI, DLLT

Communicates with DITS and

Hostile tools using the DITS
Modem board
PTC (INSITE)
Configures the different power
modes by latching the different
relays installed on the Primary
Relay pcb, Secondary Relay pcb,
DC_SP pcb and XMP panell

Communicates with INSITE tools

using the ADSL Modem board
PTC (External)

Routes the 7 conductors to an

external connector and make the
presence of PTC transparent in case
another surface system needs to be
connected to the logging cable
PTC (PTMS HP)
