If clause is used to express a conditional of something. There are some patterns that can be used to express a conditional.
Patern 1
If clause + suggestion
Example : - if you want to be a singer, why don’t you join indonesian
idol?
- if you feel cold, you should wear a jacket
Patern 2
If clause + imperative
Example : - if you are so sleepy, turn off the television and go to bed
- if you want to eat fried noodle, cook it yourself
Patern 3
If clause + reminder
Example : - if you want to get the first rank, you have to study hard
everyday
- if you want to ride a motorcycle, you have to have a driving license
Patern 4
If clause + general truth
Example : - if you don’t eat for a week, you die
- if you close your eyes, you see nothing
Patern 5
If clause to show a dream
Example : - if you work hard everyday, you can be the manager in your office
- if I practice dancing eight hours everyday, I can be a great dancer

Expressing Facts
To express facts we can use a tense that is relevant to the time of the events
happen.
1.General truth uses simple present tense
Example: -lion is a wild animal
-the sun rises in the east
-the elephants eat grass, barks, leaves, and fruits
2.Fact that happened in the past use simple past tense
Example: -the worst tsunami disaster in history occurred in december 2004
-dinosaurus lived from about 230 million to about 65 million years ago
3.Fact that happen in the future use simple future tense
Example: -the government will build some new road before new year
-the final exam for senior high school will be held in may

Expression of Necessity

To express necessity, we can use modal must or have to,and verb need. In passive form,
we can use the participle verb supposed. It has some functions based on the context of
the sentence. The following are the patterns to express necessity.
 Subject + Must/Have to + Object/Complement
Example:
-You must meet a doctor
-We have to attend the flag ceremony
 Subject + Need + To Infinitive + Object/Complement
Example
-You need to watch the film to understand the whole story
 Subject + To be + Supposed + To Infinitive + Object/Complement
-I am supposed to cook soup for dinner
