This manual is instruction of MOC63u


demonstration.
We describe basic operation, advantage and
benefit of MOC63u.
Please use this manual for demo at customer
site, dealers training and exhibition.

Sample setting and measurement

1. Open heater cover


2. Put the pan without sample
3. Press the tare button
4. Sample setting
5. Close lid and Auto-start
-> Just 5 step!!

Operator has to spread sample for short and precise measurement.


->You can do on the largest pan(95mm dia) in this class.

Guide for operation -“Just follow icon”-

1. Preparation

Be sure to turn the level screws at the

Preparation of sample

Preparation of sample
  -> It’s quite important to do preparation of sample for measurement of MOC.
    The measurement time will depend on preparation.

1.   Liquid and gel sample (Juice, milk, paint and so on)


    -> You can spread this sample easily. Then, we recommend to use
glass fiber sheet or disposable aluminum sheet. Because, It take
a long time to dry and may leave residues in the pan after heating.
2.   Powder sample (Floor powder, sugar, salt and so on)
    -> You can spread the sample in a thin layer over the entire the pa
n. It’ll assure short measurement time and accurate results.
3.   Solid sample (Beans, fruits, sludge and so on)
    -> Basically ,You can measure these sample without preparation.
However, we recommend you to make powder or paste when you m
easure huge sample to reduce measurement time.

For good results
->If you cannot get good results from customer’s method
or find it from application note, you have to determinate
condition using as follow method.

1. Press “menu” button in stand by mode.


2. Press “right”, “down” and “enter” key to choose “Auto mode”.
3. Set the temperature on 120C using “up”, “down” and “enter” key.
4. Set the moisture change rate on 0.01% using “up” and ”down”.
5. Press the “enter” to save condition. Then please press “ESC” to
back to standby mode.
-> Please check the sample after measurement. If the sample has
burned, reduce the drying temperature and try again.
If the sample doesn’t have problem, please increase and try again.

Measurement mode of MOC63u


Rapid mode
When measurements start, this mode initially uses a higher-
than-normal drying temperature to promote drying and
reduce the measuring time. The sample is initially heated at
200 C, which is hotter than the drying temperature. If the
condition to maintain rapid drying (change in moisture
content over 30 seconds) is set to a small value or if the 200
C rapid drying temperature is too high, burning may occur for
some sample types, such that accurate moisture content
measurements may not be obtained. Conversely, setting the
condition to maintain rapid drying to a large value or setting
the temperature too low negates any benefits from rapid
drying.

Measurement mode of MOC63u


Slow mode
This mode heats the sample at a slower rate than
normal. It reaches the drying temperature
approximately 5 minutes after measurements start.
The slow heating results in a lower temperature of
the lamp heating element with less radiant heat
per unit time, which reduces the possibility of
burning the sample surface. The stop condition
can be selected as AUTO or TIME.

Measurement mode of MOC63u


Step mode
This mode allows setting of a second or third
drying temperature step. The drying temperature
and measuring time are set for the first or second
steps. The AUTO or TIME stop condition is set for
the final step (second or third step). If TIME is
selected for the final step and the measuring time
is set to zero, the previous step becomes the final
step. This mode is effective for measuring the
moisture content of each component if the
evaporation temperature differs for the water and
volatile components contained in the sample.
