INTRODUCTION
 Rectification is a process that converts AC into DC.

 In diode based rectifiers, output voltage cannot be


controlled. So they are termed as uncontrolled
rectifiers.

 Rectifier may be n-pulse type.


Number of pulses in any rectifier configuration is given
by:

Pulse number=number of load current (or


voltage) pulses during one cycle of ac source voltage.

 Diodes are assumed to be ideal. 2
