WHO IS T?

• The student I will be focusing on is a 10 year old boy who I am going to

refer to as T.
• T loves fashion
• He has a twin brother
• He was adopted from Ethiopia
• His mom is a teacher at the school
• He loves writing and is super motivated to write stories
T’S DISABILITY

• Specific Learning Disability

• Cognitive Delay
• Working Memory
• Executive Functioning
• Distractibility
WHAT I WILL BE FOCUSING ON

• Working with strategies to help the student remember..

• Use different ways that will trigger his memory about the work he is
doing.
IEP MATH GOAL

• With fading teacher support and access to

manipulatives, Tyson will understand and solve
addition, subtraction and multiplication problems
and compare fractions with at least 80% accuracy
in 4 out of 5 opportunities.
WHEN THE STUDENT IS SUCCESSFUL

• Understands vocabulary when supported by stories told

when learned or pictures that are presented during the
lesson
• Enjoys one on one work
• Advocates for his learning- will always ask for help when he
needs it
• Using noise canceling headphones to help focus
WHEN THE STUDENT HAS DIFFICULTIES

• After a long break

• After a weekend
• Sometimes the student will guess the answer correctly but was
obviously guessing and cannot back up his answer with the strategy he
used to get there
• He tends to get distracted
• He can zone out in group learning settings
WORK EXAMPLES

• Lenny and Beth went to see their aunt maddy . And they went
on a walk and they saw a spider and they both got scared of
the spider . their aunt maddy  said has a spider ever hurt you
and they said no and thire aunt said don’t try to hurt them and
they wont try to hurt you so now Beth and Lenny were not
scared of the spider any more.

piper   was gonna get hit with water and. The piper did get hit with
water but  the piper had courage to get back up again
