INTRODUCTION TO THE COMPANY

Sevana Hospital and Research Centre are one of the top Multi-
speciality Hospital located in Pattambi, Palakkad. It is located out
of the busy city chaos of Kerala and offers a peaceful and healing
atmosphere. The hospital was established on 22 November 2000
as a private hospital .This hospital has 15 medical and surgical
departments offering a wide range of treatments services
including Infertility, Gynecology and Obstetrics units. Each
department is equipped with the most advanced diagnostic,
medical and surgical machines and equipment to provide the
highest standard of treatments and to ensure a positive result.
It is a 175 bedded facility equipped with the latest tools and
advanced screen machines. It offers a nurturing, clean and
healing environment to ensure the well-being of patients. 
TQM

Total quality management (TQM) is the continual process of


detecting and reducing or eliminating errors in manufacturing,
streamlining supply chain management, improving the customer
experience, and ensuring that employees are up to speed with
training.
Total Quality management has become an important issue in
healthcare organizations (hospitals) during the last couple of decades.
The increased attention to quality is due to governmental regulations,
influence of customers, and hospital management initiatives. The
changes in environment, society, and political policies have significant
impacts on management in hospitals as well. There are many
difficulties in managing healthcare organizations in a competitive
marketplace with a little support from official bodies especially in a
developing country like India.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The objectives of this study are:

 To find perception of employees relating to


TQM practices followed in the organization.

 To study the level of commitment of


employees  toward their work.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

In every day context patients and their bystanders always interact with
the organizational personnel for treatment and related purposes. It
starts from the application, registration and the root start of the
process begins from the starting when the customer contact the
Hospitals , in addition to many others. In this context, Total Quality
Management provided from the hospitals to the customers that is
patients is very sensitive and can lead to an important issue if it is
mis leaded. Hence , TQM provided from the hospitality industries is
amply indispensable as it further leads to the quality of treatment they
offer to the patients.
Lack of Quality measures leads to low performance, negative market
image, lower organizational value in public, lower organizational
commitment and many problems which concerns the reputation of the
corporate firm.  
SCOPE OF THE STUDY

One of the important services in the Indian economy


has been health. This is one of the largest and most
challenging sectors and holds a key to the country’s
overall progress. Lack of Quality measures leads to
low performance, negative market image, lower
organizational value in public, lower organizational
commitment and many problems which concerns the
reputation of the corporate firm. So this study aims to
understand Total quality management activities
followed up in the Sevana Hospital & Research
Center Pvt Ltd , Pattambi .
