Field survey is a type of field research by which we can gain

practical knowledge on the subject or the matter on which
we are doing research. Field survey can also be defined as
collection and gathering of information at the local level by
conducting primary surveys. Elder people are the bases of
life. Not only, they are the our source of past in formations,
knowledge and inspirations. Elder people are those people
which can gives the guidelines to the young generations from
their precious experiences. Hence, they are so much needed
for the young generations for the perfection in every things

that there will be efficiency work.
BACKGROUND OF STUDY
3

Ageing is the continuous process of life which ends after death. It is

the natural process of life which is observed in all the living beings.
Human beings including other animals get older due to the natural
process called ageing. According to the Oxford dictionary ,`ageing is
the process of growing older physically and mentally’. Ageing can
be define as a process of growing old with distinct physical,
psychological and social changes with the passing time.
When people started getting older they realize that they are
mentally, physically and socio-economically weaker and weaker day
by day. Which result that they are not able to perform same kind of
work like previous. Ageing is the last stage of human life.
Universally, age of 65 is consider as the age of ageing where they
started suffering many kinds of diseases.
METHODOLOGY
4

The methods of field survey are:

Taking interviews.

Field survey.

According to the activity, the survey of the respective topic

should be taken for the face-to-face interviews and field
survey so that the would not be any exaggerate the topic or
the problem that they face during the old ageing process.
Even in my opinion, field survey and taking interview is
best options to take this kind of survey which make easier
to both surveyor and interviewer.
DETAILS ABOUT SURVEY

The survey is conducted in the shanti nagar, madhyapur thimi-1,

Bhaktapur (near my society). According to community detail book,
there are 96 old age peoples out of 376 members which occupied
about 96 houses. But this kind of survey is not appropriate for large
number of house. So, this survey is only conducted in 13 houses but
among them in 2 house those older people where not present. Hence,
actual survey is done in 10 houses out of 96 houses because in one of
the house there was no such member who was interested in survey.
According to the survey, the number is quite less. In the average, the
member in a family is 3.96 members.
(NOTE: Only those member are consider who are above 60
