WHAT IS A BUSINESS
PLAN?
 It is a written document describing the nature of the
business, the sales and marketing strategy, and the
financial background, and containing a projected
profit and loss statement.
 It is like an engineer’s blueprint which contains
precise and complete details of the project to be
followed in order to come up with accurate, sensible,
and successful outcomes.

 It should clearly demonstrate the cost and benefit
analysis.
 It should answer 5Ws and 1H regarding
your business in advance.

 The scope of business plan refers to the target
reader of the plan. The readers may be internal and
external parties.
 External parties are the entities not within a
business itself but who care about or are affected
of its performance
 Internal parties are entities within a business.

 In addition, it is used to review the
direct and indirect competition your
business may face.

1. Executive Summary
It is the first element of business plan. It should
be kept short probably no more than one page.
Its main objective is to provide a synopsis of
the business to convince the readers that the new
business is with investing. Though it appears in the
beginning of the business plan, it is written after
preparing the plan.

The company description should feature:


 Mission statement - A “big idea” statement that
introduces why your company exists, what it does
for your customers, and why it matters.

The company description should feature:
Vision Statement - What is the scope An overview of your
products / services, customers, and suppliers or “big picture
vision” of the business you are trying to build? If you’re in
tech, are you trying to build the next Nest? If you’re in food
and beverage, are you aiming to be the next Chipotle? In
other words, how big is this company going to get, and why
should an investor/partner/hire be excited to be a part of it?

2. Company Description
The company description should feature:
A brief history, the nature of your business,
forms of your business, and the needs or
demands you plan to supply
 The legal structure of your business
(corporation, sole proprietorship, partnership,
etc.)

It is a business document outlining your
marketing strategy and tactics. It is often
focused on a specific period of time for
over the next year, for instance and
includes a variety of marketing factors
including, costs, goals, and action steps.

the primary target market of a business.
It must be targeted, effective, and
efficient and it would work only with
effective execution and strict adherence to
the set plan.

1) Product - The Product should fit the task consumers
want it for, it should work and it should be what the
consumers are expecting to get.
2) Place - Develop the habit of reviewing and
reflecting upon the exact location where the
customer meets the salesperson. Sometimes a
change in place can lead to a rapid increase in sales.

3. Pricing - Develop the habit of continually
examining and reexamining the prices of the products
and services you sell to make sure they're still
appropriate to the realities of the current market.
 Sometimes you need to lower your prices. At other
times, it may be appropriate to raise your prices.

4. Promotion - Promotion includes all the ways you tell
your customers about your products or services and

5. Packaging - Develop the habit of standing back and
looking at every visual element in the packaging of
your product or service through the eyes of a critical
prospect.

done with the customer present so how the service is
