International Convention of Over Fishing
United Nations Convention on The Law of Sea (UNCLOS) 1982

Adalah konvensi internasional yang mengatur hak dan kewajiban berbagai negara
di dalam melakukan berbagai aktivitas di berbagai zona laut.
Terkait dengan masalah Over Fishing Pasal 61 UNCLOS 1982 menyatakan bahwa
Negara Pantai dikenakan beberapa kewajiban di wilayah ZEE, yaitu:
(1) menentukan jumlah tangkapan yang diperbolehkan (allowable catch).
(2) menjamin bahwa sumber daya alam di ZEE tidak terancam oleh tindakan eksploitasi
yang berlebihan.
(3) memulihkan populasi spesies ikan yang sudah dipanen pada level yang dapat
menghasilkan hasil yang maksimum lestari (the maximum sustainable yield) dengan
tetap memperhatikan pola penangkapan ikan.
(4) dalam hal melakukan pemulihan terhadap persediaan ikan, Negara Pantai harus
memperhatikan dampak yang mungkin ditimbulkan dari kegiatan pemulihan.
