‡ The Cup of Kiddish (Setting Apart)
‡ [Fill the first cup.]
_$
‡ Baruch atah YaHuWaH Eloheinu
‡ Melech HaOlam
‡ boreh p¶ree hagafen.
c $
‡ Praised be You Oh YaHuWaH,
‡ Sovereign of the universe
‡ Who set apart your children
‡ and this festival season.
_$
‡ You have set us apart
‡ and exalted us
‡ with Your commandments.
c $
‡ In love You have given us
 days of joy
 and seasons of gladness,
even this Feast of Unleavened Bread,
D a memorial of our departure from Mitsraim
(Egypt).
_$
‡ You have
‡ chosen us for your service
‡ and made us sharers
 in the blessings
D of your set apart festivals.
c $
Blessed are You,
‡ YaHuWaH our Mighty One,
‡ Sovereign of the Universe,
‡ Creator of the fruit of the vine.
 [All drink the first cup.]
_$
‡ We have before us this Seder Plate.
‡ On it have been placed
 the main symbols
D of this celebration.
  ! $
‡ First is the Karpas (parsley),
 the green vegetable,
D used to remind us that Passover comes in the
Spring.
D The green represents new life.
_$
‡ We will each take some parsely,
‡ dip it into the salt water and say the
blessing together.
‡ We dip it into the salt water to remind
us that a life without redemption
is a life immersed in tears.
'
‡ [Each person take some parsley
‡ and dip it into the salt water.]
c $
‡ Blessed are You YaHuWaH
‡ our Mighty One,
‡ Sovereign of the Universe,
‡ Creator of the fruit of the earth.
‡ [All eat the greens]
  ! $
‡ Next we have the Matzah Tash with three
Matzos in it.
‡ As believers in Y¶shua, we believe this could
represent the Triune Mighty One
 The Father,
 the Son,
and the Ruach HaQodesh (Set Apart Spirit).
$
‡ Our view is that the Matzah Tash could
represent the Oneness (echad) of
Elohim.
‡ There are 3 matzos in the Matzah
Tash.
 Creator
 Messiah
 Spirit.
$
‡ We are told by the rabbis that the
Matzos must be
‡ striped
‡ and pierced
‡ to be useable for Passover.
$
‡ They cannot satisfactorily explain why
 the middle Matzoh is
D taken out,
D broken,
D hidden (buried),
D returned (resurrected),
D and each person must partake of a piece of the Matzah
when the Cup of Redemption is taken.
$
‡ Yeshayahu (aka Isaiah) 53 says the
Messiah would be beaten (striped) for
our sins.
‡ Zecharyah (aka Zechariah) j says He
would be pierced for us.
$

‡ We believe the middle Matzah

represents Messiah (Yahushua).
 That He returned (resurrected),
and that each must take Him for personal
salvation or reject Him .
c $
‡ Hear Oh Yisra¶el,
‡ YaHuWaH is our Mighty One,
‡YaHuWaH is One.
‡ (DeBarim, aka Deuteronomy 4:6)
  ! $
‡ This next symbol is the roasted shank
bone which reminds us of the Paschal
Lamb,
‡ Whose blood caused the Angel of
Death to pass over the homes of our
ancestors
‡ (Shemot, aka Exodus, j :j3) .
c $
‡ Worthy is the Lamb Who was slain to
receive power,
D and riches,
D and wisdom,
D and honor,
D and esteem,
D and blessing.
D (Rev. 5:j )
c $
‡ The Lamb of Elohim,
‡ Whose Blood provides for my personal
Passover
 from the Angel of Death.
c % &

‡ (breaking of the middle Matzah)

_$
‡ [breaks the middle Matzah from the
Matzah Tash into parts. One part is
laid on top of the Matzah Tash. The
other part becomes the Afikomen and is
wrapped in a linen cloth; it is then
buried away until later.]
c $
‡ [concerning the nd part of the Matzah]
‡ Behold the Matzah,
thebread of affliction our fathers ate in the
desert.
‡ Let all who are hungry come and eat
thereof;
and all who are in need come and celebrate
the Passover.
  ! $
‡ Next we have the Moror /more-or/,
 the bitter herbs,
D which reminds us of the bitterness of slavery,
D which our ancestors were compelled to endure.
c $
‡ Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
‡ and cleanse me from my sin.
‡ For I know my transgressions,
‡ and my sin is ever before me.
‡ Without your salvation my sin would be
a bitter end.
  ! $
‡ We have Charoset /har o set/
 made to resemble mortar,
D used at this time to remind us of the mortar that
our ancestors used
D to make bricks while slaves in Egypt.
c $
‡ It is sweet to remind us that the most
bitter of labor is sweetened by the
promise of redemption.

‡ [Fill the second cup.]

c ()
‡ Mah nishtanah hallailah hazzeh mikkot
hallaylot?
‡ Why is this night different from all other
nights?
)
‡ Shebb¶chol halloylot anu och¶lin
chametz umatzah hallailah hazzeh kullo
matzah.
‡ Other nights we may eat either
leavened bread or unleavened bread:
this night only unleavened bread.
)
‡ Shebb¶chol halloylot anu och¶lin sh¶ar
y¶rakot: hallailah hazzeh maror.
‡ Other nights we may eat all kinds of
herbs, this night only bitter herbs.
) *
‡ Shebb¶chol halloylot anu matbeelin
afeelu pa-am echat: hallailah hazzeh

‡ Other nights we do not dip herbs even
once, this night do we dip herbs twice.
) (
‡ Shebb¶chol halloylot anu och¶lin bayn
yosh¶vin uvayn m¶subin: hallailah
hazzeh kulanu m¶subin.
‡ Other nights we eat or drink either
sitting or leaning, this night do we all
lean.
þ( +
‡ For the sake of brevity, we will dispense
with the telling about the 4 different
personalities in response to Pesach.
_$
‡ We shall now answer the four
basic questions asked about
Passover, which you have asked.
c $
‡ Once we were slaves to Pharaoh in
Egypt,
‡ and YaHuWaH in His goodness and
mercy, brought us forth out of Egypt
 with a mighty hand
D and outstretched arm,
 with great terror,
D and with signs and wonders.
c $
‡ Therefore we gather year after year to
retell this ancient story. For though it is
ancient, it continues today in spirit as it
proclaims man¶s need for redemption
c $
‡ The first question asked regards the
use of Matzah.
‡ We eat these unleavened cakes to
remind us that our ancestors were
redeemed so swiftly that the yeast did
not have time to cause the dough to
raise.
c $

‡ So the bread was flat when baked in the

baked in the desert.
‡ (Many times in the Scriptures yeast or leaven
is used to represent µsin¶. Yet, being
redeemed, there is no sin found in us).
  ! $
‡ We partake of the Moror on this night to
remind us of how bitter is the lot of one
caught up in slavery to sin.
c $
‡ We dip twice in this service,
 greens into salt water
 and bitter herbs into Charoset.
c $
‡ The greens to remind us that a life
without redemption is a life immersed in
tears,
‡ and Moror into Charoset to reminds us
that even slavery is sweetened with the
promise of redemption.
c $
‡ The fourth question is,
‡ why do we recline when eating on
this night?
c $
‡ In ancient times only the free person
could eat in a reclining position.
‡ Slaves were to eat standing.
‡ On Passover, we are redeemed.
‡ YaHuWaH has provided our freedom
through His Paschal Lamb.
c ,
‡ Our book of Exodus is called
Shemot in the Hebrew Scriptures,
named after the first key word in
the book. Shemot means names.
_$
‡ Our fathers went down into Mitsraim
with only 70 persons (Debarim j0: )
‡ YaHuWaH gave them many strong
boys and girls and they became a great
nation. (Debarim 6:5)
c $
‡ Then the Mitsrites feared us because of
our numbers
 and over-powered us.
‡ They made us slaves in their land.
(Debarim 6:6)
_$
‡ Our people, the nation of Yisra¶el
groaned under the oppression.
‡ Their cries and prayers went up to
YaHuWaH. (Shemot : 3)
c $
‡ ³Then we cried out to YaHuWaH,
 Mighty One of our fathers,
‡ and YaHuWaH heard our voice
 and looked on our affliction
D and our labor
D and our oppression. (Debarim 6:7)
_$
‡ YaHuWaH heard their groaning
‡ and YaHuWah remembered His
covenant
 with Abraham,
 with Yits-hak,
 and with Ya¶aqob.´ (Shemoth : 4)
‡ YaH saw the condition of His children
 and Yah cared.
c $
‡ YaHuWaH sent j0 terrible
plagues as a sign²
 j0 chances for the Mitsrites
D to obey YaHuWaH
D and set our people free.
_$
‡ the j0th plague would be the death of the first
born person in each family.
‡ Yah in His mercy provided protection for those
who trusted Him.
‡ The people were to take a spotless, white,
male lamb
and hand feed it four days.
Then the lamb was to be killed.
_$
‡ The blood was to be put on the top of the front
of each house,
and on both side posts of the door.
‡ When the Angel of Death came to the houses
that night,
death passed over the blood marked doors.
‡ (Is it any surprise that the blood dripping from
the doors that night formed a cross?).
'
‡ [We read aloud the plagues and deposit
a drop of ³wine´ onto a napkin or
saucer.]
c $
 blood
 frogs
 gnats (lice)
 flies (scrub beetles)
 pestilence (diseased livestalk)
 boils
 hail
 locusts (grass hoppers)
 darkness
slaying of the first born. [Set cups down.]
' $

‡[Set cups down.]

_$
‡ A full cup of wine represents full joy.
‡ Though we are happy that we have
been redeemed,
our joy is diminished because our brothers
the Mitsrites had to suffer for not listening to
Yah.
Therefore we have removed some of the
wine from our cups to show our sorrow
because those around us suffer.
c $
‡ We praise the Mighty One of
 Abraham,
 Yits-hak,
 and Ya¶aqob
‡ Who kept His faith with His people Yisra¶el.
‡ YaHuWaH¶s promise of redemption in ancient
days sustains us now as we know that His
promise remains forever true.
' $
‡ [For the sake of brevity, we will
dispense with singing Dayenu]
_$
‡ With this nd cup, we recall the second
promise of redemption.
‡ As it is written,
³I will deliver you from their bondage
D ...no temptation will confront you,
D but that YaHuWaH will provide a way out.´
' $
‡ [All drink the nd cup and sing a
song. Then the all hold up a piece
of Matzah]
c $
Blessed are You,
‡ YaHuWaH our Mighty One,
‡ Sovereign of the Universe,
‡ Who brings forth bread from the earth.
' $
‡ [All eat the Matzah,
‡ then put some
 horse raddish
 with Charoset
D on a piece of Matzah
‡ and hold it up]
_$
‡ We shall now partake of the bitter herb,
combined with Charoset.
‡ Thus, we remember how bitter is slavery,
yet the most bitter of labors is sweetened by the
promises of redemption.
' $
‡ [All take the Moror (horse radish) and
Charoset.
‡ Then all take only
 the Matzah
 and bitter herb]
c $
Blessed are You,
‡ YaHuWaH our Mighty One,
‡ Sovereign of the Universe,
‡ Who sets our lives apart by your
commandments,
‡ Who has commanded us to eat the
bitter herb.
' $
‡ [All partake of the Moror.
‡ The meal is now served.]

‡ [Then, after the meal«
‡ Fill the third cup.
‡ Psalm j 6 can be recited
here.]
' $
‡ [Now the Afikomen is found,
returned to the leader and
distributed.
‡ Each person must eat from the
Afikomen.
èust as each person must come to
Yahushua HaMashiyach for his or
her personal salvation.]
_$
‡ As it is written,
‡ ³After the meal, Yahushua took the
bread and broke it and said,
 [holding up the Matzah]
‡ ³This is my body, which is broken for
you, take and eat.´
' $

‡ [All eat the Afikomen]

‡ The Cup of Reconciliation
‡ (aka The Cup of Eliyahu)
_$
‡ In the book of Malachi, we are told that the Prophet Eliyahu will
come as a forerunner to the Messiah. The people asked
Yahushua if Yahuchanan the Immersion Witness was Eliyahu.
Yahushua replied, ³If you accept it, he came in the power and
spirit of him.´ We set a place at the table in thankful
remembrance of when he was here to herald the freedom our
Yahushua has given us through His death on the cross and in
thankfulness for His resurrection from the dead which assures us
of eternal life.

‡ As we have lived to celebrate it, so may we live to
celebrate it again. Pure One, Who dwells in His
habitation, redress the countless congregation.
Speedily lead us of your stock, redeemed, to Tsion

Together:

‡ Next year in Yahrushalayim!

‡ Although there are seven promises that YaHuWaH

related to Moshah in Shemoth 6:6-8, only five of
them are represented in the Pesach Seder by the
first five cups. I have a work in progress coming out
soon entitled ³The Seven Tiys: 7 Hebrew Words That
Unfold The Pattern of The Grand Design.´ It goes
into this 7 part promise that YaHuWaH gave to
Moshah, how it relates to a pattern that underlies
Scripture from Bereyshith (aka, Genesis) to
Revelation.
