THE BENEFITS OF THE K-12 PROGRAM RATIONALE • The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education (six years of primary education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High School [SHS]). • Provides sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship. • The benefits of K to 12 program is more important especially that your Mother or Father can’t afford to go college. But we can say the K to 12 benefits is true like we can improve our skills by the help of our teacher and we can learn more and if we can graduate the senior high school we can easily apply for a work. We feel for 2 years of college. THEORITICAL BACKGROUND • K-12 program the theories of implementing informative technology into a k-12 curriculum are quit varied. More current theories, like student-centered and constructivists, suggest that technology allows learners to control more of their own learn. • With teacher administrative creativity, a technology curriculum can be adopted for most of the over 50 learning theories. However, the most frequently mentioned theories that apply to technology curriculum. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM • The purpose of this study is to determine the benefits of the k-12 program to the Grade 11 Senior High School Students. • Specially, it seeks to answer the following questions:
1. What are the benefits of the k-12 program?
2. What can you say about the implementation of k-12 program? 3. How can the following help to develop an action plan that could enhance the k-12 program? 3.1 School administrator 3.2 Teacher SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY • Students would benefit the k-12 program because it enhances students abilities and skills and on what they are capable to do. It also helps widen student’s knowledge. • It is also beneficial to the teachers because they play a vital role when it comes to learning process. It enhances their skills in teaching the students for them to acquire more knowledge • Future Researchers would also more accessible on the k-12 program because they will gain ideas based on this research. It can also widen their prior knowledge about this topic. DEFINITION OF TERMS • K-12 program - refers to the enhancement of the students’ abilities and skills. It offers a course that is relevant on what the students are capable to do. It prepares graduates for tertiary education, employment, and entrepreneurship. It is also provides improvement to student’s lifelong learning and skills. CHAPTER 2 RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES RELATED LITERATURE • According to Jim Rohn (2016), if the K-12 will stop, I wish financial literacy and entrepreneurship will teach in school. • According to Torio, et.al., (2016), student had an average to high motivation with intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the top two of the six motivational components. The results showed positive effects on academic performance and motivation can be obtained from the use of whole brain teaching as a teaching technique. • Findings of Ednave, et.al., (2018), stated that the implementation of the K to 12 programs presented the following challenges: lack of preparation and professional development; excessive academic burden on students; and integration of lessons in the real life context. • A positive impression was identified by the study Lacorte (2016), that teachers are likely to have been adequately prepared for the implementation of the K-12 programs in term of teaching skills. • Crisol et.al, (2016) affirmed that the teachers have approved the implementation of the program. They believe that the program effectively provided students with the fields and careers they had chosen. RELATED STUDIES • This is a big help for me as a future teacher of Kindergarten “from my course Early Childhood Education” It is more beneficial to all students who will under this program, because they can develop their skills and talents in different field of study. • K-12 program can never be the hindrances of aiming our own success, instead it is one of the ingredients that makes us a better individual and highly integrated of educational attempt. • May be K-12 program can have disadvantages, but it has more likely advantages to gave especially us as a youth. • It will practically benefit those who cannot go to college. They will have a chance to earn for them to afford college in the future in this poor country. • As one of the students that experience k-12, For me its useless. Yes, We learn many things that college students also learned without k-12 but when we got to college some lessons are just like what we learned from senior high. CHAPTER 3 METHODOLOGY RESEARCH DESIGN • The study utilized the qualitative research in order to achieve the purpose of this study – which is to determine and describe the thoughts and feelings of parents of Senior High School students in Carcar Central National High School. It is descriptive in a sense that the data obtained were analyzed and described. The researcher used her survey questionnaire as her instrument. Based on the result of the survey conducted, she was able determined the details of this study. RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT
• This study took place in Carcar Central
National High School the biggest secondary public school in Carcar City, Cebu where a lot of students are currently taking the k-12 program which is beneficial study. RESEARCH RESPONDENTS
• This respondents of the study were in Senior
High School a grade 11 and grade 12. In choosing the respondents, random sampling will be done so that the main objectives of the study will be carried out directly. RESEARCH MATERIALS
• The research prepared a question to determine the views of
the Grade 11 parents regarding the implementation of K-12 program. This can be determined based from the indicators such as the respondents profile preparedness of parents in terms of emotional and financial aspect. RESEARCH PROCEDURE The research has followed certain procedures of the study. Choose a certain title. It is must that we choose a title for our study and defend panelist it was approve. The researchers handed in a led as permission to the principal to conduct a study about the, “the benefits of K-12 program” among students and teacher in “Carcar Central National High School” for fulfillment of requirements in Practical Research 1.
