PROJECT INTRODUCTION
A museumis an institution that cares for a collection of artifacts and other objects of artistic, cultural, historical, or scientific
importance. Many public museums make these items available for public viewing through exhibits that may be permanent or
temporary. The largest museums are located in major cities throughout the world, while thousands of local museums exist in
smaller cities, towns, and rural areas. Museums have varying aims, ranging from serving researchers and specialists to serving
the general public. The goal of serving researchers is increasingly shifting to serving the general public.
VINTAGE CARS
A vintage car is, in the most general sense, an old automobile, and in the narrower senses of car enthusiasts
and collectorsSuch enthusiasts have categorization schemes for ages of cars that enforce distinctions between
antique cars, vintage cars, classic cars, and so on. The classification criteria vary, but consensus within any
country is often maintained by major car clubs
India is home to many vintage cars and even more dedicated enthusiasts, but most of the country’s treasures
lie in private collections and are rarely opened up to the public eye. This is about to change and car enthusiasts
are about to get an exciting new destination in the form of Vintage and Classic Car Museum, in Bangalore

CAR RESTORATION SPACE


The preservation and restoration of automobiles is the mechanical or cosmetic repair of cars.Restoration
means removing, replacing, or repairing the parts of a vehicle, while preservation means keeping the original
components.
Though automotive restoration is commonly defined as the reconditioning of a vehicle "from original condition
in an effort to return it to like-new or better condition,"[3] There are many styles of which a vehicle can be
restored, any of which can be performed at the discretion, desire, or taste of a vehicle owner or restorer.

NEED OF THE PROJECT


A vintage car museum showcases the collection of vintage cars while educating the visitors about those
heritage cars. This building is going to attract the carheads of the region and for the people who are willing can
also get their old cars restored. Another startup CLASSIC CHASE willl be operated that gives some specific cars
for hire. After completion this will be the world's largest vintage car museum showcasing around 900 cars out
of which 400, owned by Dr Ravi Prakash and his club, will be permanently showcased in the museum. The
museum will be designed with a motive to educate people about the heritage cars through magazines or some
latest tech. Their will also be leisure track only for the owner to drive those cars and the visitors can see those
cas in motion.

to design a one of a kind largest vintage car museum in india that house the heritage cars and also incoperate
other function related to educate or mantain those cars

TRANSIT HUB, GURUGRAM
PROJECT INTRODUCTION
A transit hub is the spine of any city. It serves the most basic necessity for the city that is transportation. But
when we hear about ‘Transit Hub’, the first thing that comes to our mind is either train or bus or metro or all
combined. The fashion of creating huge transit hubs without any concern for the immediate society around it
has a deteriorating effect on itself. Because of this, people have to adjust to the design rather than creating an
adaptive design.
A transit hub does not necessarily needs to be just a starting or ending point of a journey. It can also serve as a
node for the community that surrounds or resides around the hub. But how does this happen? How to get the
community involved in the process? The answers lies in the needs and aspirations of the society. If their wants
and demands can be met on an optimum level at a place which provides them an escape from their daily
schedule & also gives them a new set of viewpoint for the environment surrounding them, then the space will
act as a node for the society & passengers. This is what has been tried to achieve.

Aim
The aim is to design the node which connects the two transport modes, that is the metro station and ISBT, in a
way that it
NEED OF THE PROJECT
Urbanization has led to horizontal growth of the cities thus creating problems of urban sprawl. This has
resultedin increase of trip lengths and higher usageof private vehicles, problems of pollution and
increased demand of infrastructure. To address these issues, many cities have strengthened their public
transport by developing mass rapid transit systems (MRTS) such as metro rails and Bus Rapid Transit Systems
(BRTS). It is however, important to efficiently use these systems by integrating the land use with the
transport infrastructure to make the cities livable, healthy and smart.

Objectives
• Exploring, understanding and further applying the thinking of society/community/people towards an
urban space through architecture.
• Achieving a design of efficient transit hub.
• Secondary nature of being a node for not just the surrounding community but also for the passengers.
• Strengthening the primary modes of urban transportation by integrating the Metro Station and Bus
• Socially and environmentally active complex.
Scope
The bus terminal proposed is in KHERKI DAULA, GURUGRAM and is supposed to be an inter state bus terminal. The
project focuses on improving the current scenario of transit hubs by implementation of controls through design.
Also upgrading the transit hub as a community space so that it relates and responds for and to the society
surrounding it. Through research and case studies several issues were realized in the existing typology of terminals.
Hence by trying to resolve them, what can been achieved is:
• Pedestrian friendly environment
• Socially active complex
• Crime preventive environmental design for better of women
• Security from man-made life threatening situations
• Controls for restricting unnecessary public intake to reduce chaos

VALIDATION
• GURGAON MASTER PLAN 2031 is the latest master plan released by the town and country planning department
of Haryana.
• The plan shows the uocoming land use of the district and the proposed MRTS, RRTS and Railway plans
Also there are spaces alloted for the transit hubs one of which is in Kherki Daula which will be a metro station +
an ISBT

INTRODUCTION
Development of an water front area with an aim of connecting and integrating the city with water. Waterfronts
are settlements or civilizations or commercial developments that come up along the water body. Waterfronts are
dynamic and unique places where the land and water meet. It is the interface of the aquatic and the terrestrial.
A waterfront zone is where interaction happens between the urban and the water. By being an interface between
land and water, the waterfront zone is an area endowed with special characteristics. Waterfront is a zone of
interaction and the waterfront area is considered to be a unique and irreplaceable resource where it interfaces
between the land and water.
Water is a defining force that fundamentally shapes the character of each place it touches. It's a feature to be
celebrated and honoured. Urban waterfronts, like the cities help define, dynamic places. Waterfronts are often
the most valuable resource of a city. Also cities seek a waterfront zone that is a place of public enjoyment, ample
visual and public access- to both the water and the land. These waterfronts have the potential to become the
cultural and heritage hubs ofthe city that lie on the banks or shores of the waterfront as well as attract people
from the city and also tourists.
Why waterfronts?- Over recent few decades, waterfront development and redevelopment has evolved and taken
on its own identity in areas such as historic preservation and recreation. Creating minimum avenues for
recreation and green open spaces. Also today many waterfronts are a staple of modernism,city beautification
and helps in tourism.
OBJECTIVES
• To create a city's identity in the waterfront.
• To understand and develop an approach towards waterfront city. Transforming it into a unique platform with
recreational and entertainment facilities serving the city and its people.
• Rejuvenate the urban life, by improving the quality of life.
• Create an economically vibrant and safe and inclusive waterfront providing the best social and physical
infrastructure for its residences, business and visitors.
• Also, at developing the waterfront areas and to provide aesthically pleasing and highly functional spaces and
activities that encourages the city dwellers to experience the beauty and serenity of the waterfront.
• Creating a vital and vibrant waterfront that serves to unite the community and the visitors in a shared
experience of the city.
• Develop the city as a major commercial and tourist sector.
• Establish it as a major tourism attraction centre and a local identity.
• Link the community with the waterfront. Integrate public open spaces with more natural water edge,
landscapes, parks.Goal: Is to plan a development that is oriented towards creating an urban form that is
wholly consistent
CHALLENGES
• The site has a beautiful setting at the water’s edge that has not been fully embraced
• The site is well connected, yet there is a fragile pattern of urban life with few informal recreational activities
taking place.Most of the activities taking place are considered necessary activities, such as ofices and
commercial operation
• The public space network is unclear, since the site lacks interesting, inviting and varied public spaces. The
public space hierarchy is unclear – where is the heart of the city? Where are the places for quiet relection or
the places for physical activities and play
• There are several historically and culturally signiicant monuments in and in close proximity to the site. But it
does not translate into a place where you just spend time in the public spaces. The open space has lost its
important role as a preferred meeting place
• The site has Ring Road running on the west and Indraprastha Marg/Bridge to the north. These highways
create barriers and limit access to the site
• Overall, the site is dominated by ofices and institutions.
Site PotentiaL
• Natural Feature: RiverNational Signiicance MonumentsThe site has a magniicent setting. The river forms an
excellent opportunity to provide for an active public space
• Rich history and culture: The historical monument of Feroz Shah Kotla is in close proximity to the site. It is
well connected to adjoining historically signiicant monuments like Purana Qila, Red Fort, India Gate, etc
• National significance monuments: The site has memorials of signiicant Indian leaders situated in close
proximity. The vehicular road connecting the ghats to the site has very low trafic density and can serve as
good connection to the site
• Religious: The site has an existing ‘Chhath Ghat’, which is extensively used during the ‘Chhath’ festival and
people gather here in large numbers during the festival
• Active during work hours: The site has many institutional buildings and commercial newspaper ofices,
making this a very active area during weekdays
• Potential for pedestrian connections: Few of the roads like, Indraprastha Marg already have a wide, well-
connected pedestrian pathway and foot overbridge, providing safe and convenient access for the
pedestrians.
