INTRODUCTION

Child Abuse is defined in the World Report on Violence and Health (2002)
as:

“All forms of physical or emotional ill-treatment, sexual abuse,


neglect or negligent treatment or commercial or other exploitation
resulting in actual or potential harm to the Childs health, survival,
development or dignity in the context of a relationship of
responsibility, trust or power.” WHO, 1999 & 2002

PIVOTAL ROLE OF DEPARTMENT OF
EDUCATION FOR SAFETY OF THE CHILDREN
TEACHERS ROLE

Teachers should make their students CONFIDENT to keep


themselves safe.

Teachers should have create such environment that


STUDENTS ARE NOT RELUCTANT to share anything.

Teachers should manage to judge students if he/she is


suffering from any type of abuse inside or outside of school.

There must be OPEN DISCUSSIONS among students and


teachers.
AWARENESS AMONG PARENTS

 Awareness among parents is important to prevent Child Abuse.


School Staff can play key role TO MAKE PARENTS AWARE.
 There must be PARENTS TEACHERS MEETING to highlight the
issue so that a strategy can be made both by the teachers and parents
for safety of the children.

 Teachers can make the parents aware HOW TO JUDGE through


their behaviour that he/she is suffering from such ill-treatment
