Introduction
• India is a country famous for its agro-climatic
region. Its ranges from extreme temperature to
extreme tropical region between these sub-
tropical parts exist in our country. I mean to say
that we have all the types of climate. That result in
free to grow all types of crop with suitable climatic
condition. As far as vegetables and fruits are
concerned, we have diverse groups that could be
grown from extreme hot to extreme cold climate.
Protected Cultivation
• It is the technique of providing favourable environmental conditions
for the growth of plants.
• In green houses, the growing environment is altered to suit the
specific requirements of plants.
• It is rather used to protect plants from the adverse climatic
conditions of light, temperature, humidity, co2 and air circulation for
the best growth of plants to achieve maximum yield and best
quality.
• A green house is a covered structure which protects plants from
vagaries of weather or environment i.e. wind, precipitation, excess
solar radiation, temperature extremes and considerable attack of
pests and diseases
