INTRODUCTION:

With India's population crossing 1.3 billion in 2016, a balance between the
optimum population growth and a healthy of nation is far to be achieved.

The rising population, there is a need for increased agricultural production.

Irrigated agriculture has been an extremely important source increased
agriculture production.

Now a days people wants to observe their work from anywhere on their
digital devices such as smartphone and tablet or laptop. Several things
were made easy by using internet of thing (IOT).

IOT based automatic irrigation system is for to create an IOT base automated irrigation
mechanism which turns the pumping motor ON and OFF on detecting the moisture content
and sufficient water level and pass data through IOT platform.
2. INTERNET OF THINGS

The internet of things (IOT) is the inter-networking of “physical devices” also

referred to as “connected devices” and smart devices”.
IOT is expected to offer advanced connectivity of devices, system, and services that
goes beyond machine-to-machine communication and covers a variety of protocols
domains, and applications.

Hardware:
Arduino UNO controller
 Arduino is an open source prototype
platform based on easy to use
hardware and software.

 Arduino board designs use a variety

of microprocessor and
microcontrollers.

 Arduino boards are able:

1. To read inputs.

2. To twitter message-and turn it into

an output-activating motor.

Software:
IDE(INTEGRATED-DEVELOPMENT-
ENVIRONMENT):
The Arduino IDE is installed in the computer.
The IDE has a compiler, serial monitor
etc. Arduino language is a variant of c++ – at
least it looks like c++ programs. Program is
written, compiled and uploaded from the IDE
to the board. The language is really really
simple! The IDE has the options to select
from different versions of Arduino board with
different controllers and also has options to
select the particular communication port
where the Arduino board is connected.

CONCLUSION

• The Arduino based automatic irrigation system is simple and

precise way of irrigation. Hence, this system is very useful as it
reduces manual work of the farmers and also helps in the
proper utilization of resources. It eliminates the manual
switching mechanism used by the farmers to ON/OFF the
irrigation system. This project can be extended to greenhouses
where manual supervision is less. Fully automated gardens and
farm lands can be created using this principle in the right
manner on large scale.
