NATURE OF COMMUNICATION

• Communication is a whole process


• Communication is inevitable
• Communication involves context and relationship
• Communication happens on context
COMMUNICATION

• A process by which people send messages or exchanges ideas or thoughts with one
another in a verbal or non verbal manner.
• From latin word “ communicare”- to share, to unite, to join or to have things in
common.
• An act of passing on the news and information.
• The act of sharing or exchanging thoughts, ideas, feelings with others ow with a
group participating with or sharing in common.
• The sharing of meaningful information between two or more people
with the goal of the receiver understanding the sender’s intended
message. In business, the effectiveness of a company’s internal and
external communication process is often very important to all it’s
overall success.
(example. Big company’s operates with advertising group to
communicate their products to the consumer)
ORAL COMMUNICATION

• Defined as the process of creating, transmitting, receiving and


interpreting messages between a source and receiver through spoken
words.
• Oral communication may be private or public
• Oral communication is a cycle which involves two parties:
a speaker and a listener.
PRINCIPLE S AND CHARACTERISTICS OF
COMMUNICATION

Communication is schemata driven.


-It makes you send messages to others by activating your schemata,
experiences, or background knowledge.
Communication is an interpretative act.
The only person who knows the exact meaning of the messages transmitted is
the sender, speaker, or the source.
Communication is dynamic,
active,
powerful or forceful.
Subject to changeable and continued existence of the world.
It reveals nothing that is permanent or fixed.
( Signs, symbols, marks, letters)
• Communication is contextual
It always rest in something, it is irreversible, developmental and
progressive.
It is expected to apply rules, moral values and beliefs. (Data
Privacy Law)
It is ethical and Influenced by media and technology.
