Subject Pronouns
– Subject pronouns are pronouns that replace the noun
in the sentence
– It is also used to avoid repetition of names in a
sentence

Ex.
I am 14 years old.
Tom is a fireman and he is also a former soldier.

Object Pronoun

– Object pronouns are pronouns that replace the


nouns that are direct or indirect object.

Ex.
Mother made me some cookies. (me receives the
action “made”)
The teacher taught us well. (us receives the action
“taught”

Possessive Pronoun

– Possessive pronouns are pronouns that replace


the nouns either as a subject or an object.
Ex.
I bought this shoes, so this shoes is mine.
Michael has a car. The car outside is his.

Possessive Adjective
(determiner)
– Possessive adjectives are NOT a pronoun, but
DETERMINERS. They have similar form as a
possessive pronoun.
– Possessive adjectives are used before a noun and are
not used to replace a noun.

Ex. Michael bought a new car, his car is parked outside.


The dog keeps its bone under the tree.
